It not a Loss Prevention issue... how the hell you figure that... i was prepared to give someone up to 15$ for trading my card for cash. 5$ means nothing to me since i got 460$ back.
Good thing its not your store... I got permission from the Manager and LP's on site to do this.. the only rule was i had to be off the clock, off company time.
It was a Customer to Customer transaction except the Cashier (my friend as well) who handled the money (Middle man) except he walked out with 5$ more.

And if you knew me, you would of let me do it... don't assume because you don't you wouldn't have, besides i would of just asked someone else anyway.

Its a loss prevention issue to have a worker with a store credit; why do you have a store credit? Did you do a return with out your receipt? If you did, LP issue. Or is this thing a gift card? If it is, why can't you just cash it out, although then this thread wouldn't have been so funny.

I bought a laptop when i wasn't working there with cash..... about 30 days later got hired at the same place. They made an Exception for me ( i still had receipt and everything) and returned the laptop (it was crap) over the 30 day return mark. Had it for 1 month and 24 days. Since i used cash all they could do was give me In-store credit, It was like a Gift card ONLY for best buy.

I had no choice but to trade equal value to a customer spending over $465.95. Which i got permission to as long as i wasn't on company time. so i came off the clock and spent 3 hours lookin for someone :D
