Basically, "yes." I was expecting this nerf months ago when I started seeing SSs of capped gil.

And yet SE did nothing to these people lol

If people were relying on blinkers as there main source of incoming well I feel bad for you son. 67gil isn't 0 gil. Shitty players who only do VW will continue to do it as it's easier then doing dynamis. Dynamis will be packed. More people will get into fishing until they nerf that. A good player will have multiple sources of making gil.

Funny, we just had a similar problem to this in FFXIV where you could convert grand company seals into gil by purchasing items at a counter for seals and then npc'ing them. It effectively caused massive price hikes. It last three weeks before SE fixed it in the same fashion. Silly SE...

While their response was slow, it was only 5 days. Blinkers have been around for 2 years lol.

i doubt fishing will stay for long up there... people have been pushing lately alot into the fishing direction, and thats not because of matsya but more because of haks. I can foresee a nerf comeing to it very soon.

I think Meebles is a good experiment for future events. For those with tons of gil, you can propel through content by dumping tons of gil. For those without tons of gil, work the ladder. Unfortunately, as Slycer said, these "fixes" ultimately undermine people casually invested in cruor; the rest have made their gil by now.

I may or may not resemble this statement. However, in regards to fishing, I do believe the overhead is much too costly for Chinamans and their English speaking counterparts to renew every ban. With that said, Ochiudo's didn't turn into Ochimusha for quite some time. I believe these changes are always weighed by the abuses of RMT(chinamans) and fishing just isn't where that's at, consider the costs of starting up a new account and leveling fishing. The return just doesn't justify it at all. Someone math it please.

Nothing to spend it on except -1 that only exist in single digit values if at all.
Abjds augments are even cheap now since they're 200k and dropping with no actual abj gear around to use them on.

Problem with nerfing haks is that its only one of four fish worth fishing. Two of the others are lik/gug which are valuable to make ebisu in order to fish.......haks. need haks and you kill fishing. The game has evolved to the point where fish based foods aren't used. Sole sushi? Tav tacos? Is the fishkabob market going to support 100their fishermen? Maybe fishing doesn't have a future but if they do't want to kill it entirely they will need to revamp it if they nerf haks. I dunno. Put hmpn ryugus or something.

Converting cruor to blinks to gil was easy. Anyone with a lvl 99 job could easily do this. Fishing for Hakryu requires an Ebisu. To get an Ebisu you need atleast 10M investment to purchase a Lu Shang, Lik & Gugru. Nerfing Hakryu's would not surprise me,

banning doesnt help if you have to keep doing it every week, hence you remove the source of this.

However this "nerf" will also affect other events not only abyssea:

-VW
-Dynamis (to some extent)
etc.

A better solution would have been to just nerf the hell out of cruorburning in Abyssea and cruor gain of FCs.
