Never really cared to put in any effort to convert cruor to gil, but the patch sucks because the amount of people willing to buy my overpriced shit will drop dramatically.
I know a lot of people who were new/rerolled that used the method to not be completely poor, so I could see a lot of people losing interest in this game. They should of just placed a cap on the amount of blinkers you could purchase per tally and made the perle/aurore/teal gear r/e and called it a day. Adding in more gil sinks would of been good, too.
How can someone with a 3 billion gil weapon criticise someone else for what they do with their gil?
He had 12 accounts so even RMT'ing at $3 per mil, he'd cover his subscription fees in under 12 hours. And with 12 accounts botting 24/7, I think he's past the point where morals come into it regarding RMT.
I'm anti-RMT but you'd have to be an idiot not to recognise that 8 billion worth of gil per month is a lot of RL money even if you could only RMT a fraction of it. It's kind of beyond the point of candy money. It's certainly past the point where the upkeep of 12 accounts is a factor.
I stoped crafting for now, need to see first where the (albeit shitty) economy is heading towards and will settle. Doing HQ gear (hexed or cursed) is something I wouldnt touch atm, dunno how much people are willing to pay for them after this.
this update has cut out some potential clients, like the average joe that was maybe eyeballing with a cursed hauberk -1 or a cursed breastplate -1.
I really hope the next update fixes/upgrades gardening mining etc. with the new synth items.
Because as it stands for normal people to make money is go to overcrowded Dynamis.
Nope the of number camps are limited and already packed.
I don't think many people were actually selling blinker to farm their relic because honesly the gain is poor, and you have to own an incredible amount of account to make it ok. Therefore the only demand that's going to decrease is the one coming from idiots upgrading several relics to 75 (and stopping there). Also you don't need gil to make a relic if you wanted to. Casual players that used to convert their cruor will move to dynamis farming, keeping coins for them, reducing the supply and making the prices increase.3) Demand for Relics will decrease without "easy money" or people opting to sit on gil for other ventures instead.
Nani ? The only people who do myhtics are experienced people, the demand will still be there. You are acting like buying alexandrites requires an insane amount of gil. Here it's like 600M "only" which amounts to 3 completed relics. There is plenty of ways to get that money, don't need to bot fishing or cruor. Also hardcores still have the option to multibox salvage several times a day too.4) Eventual Alexandrite price decrease, as peoples gil banks dry up. Supply will see no change.
I'd say the opposite because it's what a lot of people use as money makers if you check bazars regularely. The demande remains the same however supplly will likely increase due to the nerf ?5) Possible price increase for Heavy Metal/Riftcinder/Riftdross to make up for cruor nerf.
I didn't know anyone cared about this, does this affect more than 0.1% of the economy ? 99% of what is found in bazars is dynamis coins, metal plates, riftdross/cinder.6) Hexed -1 synthesis may see a price increase as there are still too few crafters who can create the items and now there is no gil cushion for NQs that they produce.
probably7) Consumables likely to decrease across the board as some crafters go back to tried and tested gil methods.
I don't think this matters, it's very small niche lol.8 ) Neo Nyzul Isle farming PTs may take a hit (demand decrease) in the coming months with casuals no longer having quick easy money.
I'll add mine :
With more people willing to upgrade to 99 instead of doing another relic, marrows will increase in prices because demand will increase.
It cost me zero gil. Mdk cost gil but not really because it was bought with marrows so uncompressible value.
Marrow demand is going to decrease. I have personally converted about 5 marrows worth of Cruor to gil and have only farmed Cruor once (which I used to buy KIs). I'm sure there were a lot of players that did as much Voidwatch as me but never farmed Dynamis/Salvage/Limbus/Crafted, so they'd have as much income from Cruor but none of the other gil. They have just left the Marrow market.
I'm still failing to see how you can criticise him. I'm willing to bet it took you a lot more time and effort to make your Afterglow Relic than it did for him to make 3 billion gil cruor burning. And the extra account cost is neglible when his accounts paid for themselves in under 12 hours.
You have no grounds to call him an idiot. You made the equivalent of 3 billion through hours of work. He made 3 billion physical gil in 2 weeks whilst being AFK. Yes you never physically had the gil, just the marrows but there was nothing stopping him buying 250 marrows with his 3 billion.
Gil has no value since abyssea. All gear are rare/ex, gil is used to exchange one type of currency for another. The ingame currencyies are : (coins/marrows/cinder/dross/plates). Therefore marrows have a constant values, whatever gil you list them for. 1 marrow will always be equal to the same amount of alexandrites or riftcinder. The only thing it's going to affect is stuff like meeble burrows KI, but really it's minor.
Oh and yes marrows will increase in value for many reasons :
(1) it's required to get 99
(2) you cannot throw level 30 mules at ADL to farm marrows
(3) instead of doing useless 75 relic for ffxiah epeen, casual players will finish their weapon.
(4) PD nerf will come soon and it's going to be difficult to get by.
Item prices aren't fixed to each other because their supply and demand varies.
Less people will be making relics, and more people will be seeking alternate methods of gil making (for example: marrows).
actually quiet the opposite will probably happen. People wont bother getting their relics up to 99 with current prices. While the difference is there, it can be neglected, considering most of the good relics liv from their merited WS the +15% in relic WS dmg isnt gonna be a big motivator to get the relic up to 99.
casual players were never farmers to begin with, and I doubt the ones living of cruor will go farming.
I dont know about you, but gil was the currency I used to exchange my crafts on. So this update hit crafters the most until the supply of crafting mats hits a downhill path in the price they are currently at.
the PD nerf will come and will be (if SE is in their right minds) accompanied by mob nerfs. Tough knowing SE the PD nerf will come first and the mob nerf 6 months - 1 year later.
Explain to me why any of these things are different before and after this Cruor nerf? The only difference caused by this nerf is:
1) You have more competition because now Marrows are a relatively more attractive way to make gil. (minor, I think)
2) You have fewer people to sell to. (major)
It's possible that right now the smart thing to do is to stockpile Marrows and wait for the PD nerf, which *will* likely affect the cost of marrows when it comes out. However, it's not true that anything about this cruor nerf will increase the price or value of marrows. We would expect both to decrease.
I usually just lurk, but:
Sorry, what exactly do you think currency is? It's like you're saying "real world money has no value, its just used to exchange goods and services for other goods and services". You must be able to see how silly this is... right?Gil has no value since abyssea. All gear are rare/ex, gil is used to exchange one type of currency for another.
Honestly, its just a matter of scale. I dual box and I find that to be somewhat extravagant. You said before you and mdk each 3-box ADLs. You seemed particularly proud that you could duo it. This guy 12-boxed enough gil to make your crowning achievement in 2 weeks - your response comes across as nothing short of the jealousy of discovering your e-peen is not the greatest in the land. Can we know what you were doing with all this gil ? Buying candies ? God you are an idiot. Leveling a relic on BST ? 18 accounts seriously
brosale price has gone up 50% in less than 24 hours.
I didn't do what I did to RMT or make an afterglow weapon. I recognized an opportunity to do something I thought was interesting. I did it because I wanted to and I feel like I succeeded in that. All you've done is make outlandishly stupid and often hypocritical claims about what other people should be doing and what your views on the game are. Nearly every post you make is an attempt to justify your own existence. You invested three months of your life into marrow farming for your glowy weapon. Congratulations. I'm not bashing on it either. I think you were efficient about the time you spent in doing so while many others approach the issue with more bodies and are less successful. Good job, but consider this. You have a story about how you spent a large amount of time playing a video game to get some item. I've got a story about how I learned C++ and C# in a matter of weeks to create a monopoly money printing press that could be used to generate thousands of real life dollars every week by clicking a button. What story do you think is more impressive and more amusing to tell? I mentioned this experience at a co-op I was interviewing for last week. One of the interviewers was thoroughly entertained by it. If I end up getting that co-op, it's because I told him about my project.
In reality nobody has any idea what impact the cruor nerf will have on the economy. Im not sure if that many people knew about chcobo blinkers. Most probably know about cruo r equipement, but is very slow and only good for pocket money.
I'm in this boat. I was shopping around for an ebody -1, but not anymore. I'll probably just grab an NQ one now and save the bulk of my gil.
I only did the blinker thing when I needed cash or was bored enough to go through the tedious trading. Now since it's nerfed, I don't have that 'safety net' of gil that I can cash in on.
