It's no longer a hurricane! it's a "post-tropical storm". Which means absolutely nothing, but all these news stations are acting like it makes it better. And from what Ive been reading people are thinking "no longer a hurricane" means it isn't important anymore.

different "power sources" is the change. Which might make this last longer feeding on the system coming in from the west.
