After living through two major hurricanes in the last 10 years (Katrina, Ike), I personally would have hoped people would have learned from the past. Apparently from the reports coming in, this is not so.

Lost touch with my father down on LBI this morning, though I've heard reports that it's from Verizon's cell service, so he should be fine. Transformer blew a few poles down from where I am in Northeast Philly over an hour ago, still arcing and making my power flicker, as well as set trees on fire, still no sign of Peco or the electric company. Wind's pretty harsh still and I expect to lose power again sometime tonight.
