I can't wait for the country music stars to make songs about this like they did about 9/11. It's gonna be just as terribad.
If this a hurricane, isn't this water seaborne and accordingly salty? Doesn't that greatly enhance the damage it does to the electrical systems of the subways?

http://gothamist.com/2012/10/30/thes...ng_post-hu.phpSubway service is still not available in the wake of Hurricane Sandy (understandable when you see the flooded stations) and officials keep saying that partial, free bus service would kick in at 5 p.m. on Tuesday (look—they even put up bus pictures to prove it) but what buses are running? Good question!
On Tuesday night the MTA said the below buses are up and running on a slightly modified Sunday schedule (read: be patient and be aware of the streets and signage around you cause the bus may need to make detours). Keep your eye on the New York City Transit section of MTA.info for up-to-date schedules. The MTA hopes to be "operating as much service as possible beginning Wednesday morning."

Woof, looking at the pictures it seems it might be worse than I thought.
The subways have pumping stations right? I know right now there's a crap ton of water everywhere, I thought that once the power was restored that it would be easy for them to pump out. Guess I was wrong.
At least its not projected to freeze over the coming week for the coastal people.
damn, fuck hurricanes. I'll take crushing blizzards any day.
