I don't recall saying you were crying.
I don't recall saying you were crying.
Well I'm saying the slider happy peeps are and need to get over it
FFXIV has the best looking character creation character models out of any mmorpg ever created and that is a fact. Oh, and it doesn't end there, they also have the best looking movements/combat animations and the gear looks perfect on these characters.
This definately wouldn't be the case if SE decided to copy/paste the Aion character creator (which is what all the people bitching about character creation actually want implemented into FFXIV) so gtfo and stfu. Not even Blade and Soul or ArcheAge have character creation sliders because they also want their character models to look good. To sum that all up: sliders = lesser quality characters. no sliders with only preset options = higher quality characters.
You don't want more freedoms because you don't like how other people might use said freedom.
Delicious. XI-XIV fans are truly a special breed.
Why am I surprised, though. These are the same people who didn't want jumping because of "how people would abuse it by jumping in town", didn't want a customizable UI because "it leads to exploits and mods", as if they didn't use windower, and didn't want a token system because it "devalues to effort of the gear that elite linkshells (read: botters) obtain through hard work (read: botting).
Oh, you object to people being able to name their character 778b*¶*/|█? I guess you must hate Freedom!
I am not in favor of allowing people to make characters with neon blue skin and fluorescent orange/green hair, or any other hideous option just for the sake of Freedom. If this makes me a totalitarian, so be it.
I am indeed okay with folks not being able to make a neanderthal jutting jaw and reverse-slooped forehead with beady little eyes and lips that are wider than my hand is thick, yeah.
At the same time, I am also in favor of token systems, jumping, customizable UI, and am not a fan of HNMs.
Oh, and I want more hairstyles, especially for the girls.

EDIT: I also want Cloud's hairstyles available for my own character.
For fuck sake, graphics and attractive characters is one thing that FF title should not compromise on. It's what we expect. I'm ok with jump, tokens, w/e else but I'm gonna fight like a rabid dog over this if needs to be.
lol This is by far (not really) the stupidest fkin argument to hit this subforum since XIV was announced at E3.
What the hell...? Cichy, is that a photoshop or is that actually possible in that game?? O.o;;
that is an actual character from Aion, go sliders!
That right there is an extreme example, but there are others, more subtle, of why sliders are not exactly a good idea. >_> I am firmly against sliders.
Why does "sliders," to you guys, automatically assume having extreme ends of the spectrum available for each adjustment?
Hell, the existing breast-size options is already a "slider" as it is simply incremental adjustments between two different values (very large vs very small), even though it totals in a measly 5 options.
In the Korean version of Aion that was not possible. In the North American release they extended the range of the sliders making for some truly horrid customization options.
But I understand how you guys would like to euthanize all of the downs syndrome kids in the world to make it a prettier place.
I have seen firsthand some of the results of sliders. (>.>) I would rather never see them again.
I do apologize if it seems boorish of me, but I don't really see the need for that level of customization. Is your character that much more imperfect if his eyes are not 1/8 of an inch closer together?
Hair, I understand. Big, easily seen, highly identifying. A nose with a bit more of an inward slant to it? Not quite as much. (>_> ) I just don't want to see the inevitable abuse that will just make me sit back and sigh at the human race's capacity for overwhelming dumb.
._. Those are my feelings on the matter.
