Why am I surprised, though. These are the same people who didn't want jumping because of "how people would abuse it by jumping in town", didn't want a customizable UI because "it leads to exploits and mods", as if they didn't use windower, and didn't want a token system because it "devalues to effort of the gear that elite linkshells (read: botters) obtain through hard work (read: botting).

I'm with this dude. I want to create a lovable yet hideous caveman. Complete with a huge hairy brow, small eyes, large nose and no teeth. Who are you to tell me I can't enjoy running around as an ugly duckling in a beautiful world?

Why does "sliders," to you guys, automatically assume having extreme ends of the spectrum available for each adjustment?

I imagine for the same reason that not seeing a need for 100 shades of gray in bust size means that we hate freedom.

The greater the customization you allow to players, the worse the avatars in the game will look, without exception. I am willing to sacrifice the Liberty to make stupid-looking characters so that we may enjoy a game without stupid-looking characters.

There's not more than 7 people involved in this character creation arguement and you're saying that you're not going to play FFXIV as a result and at the same time, implying that the entire XIV community will be like this? Well i have news for you, you're even more retarded than the people argueing about stupid shit. If you learned anything in FFXI then you learned that it had the best fucking online community ever and FFXIV will also have a nice community for obvious reasons. Shit people say on a forum does not represent the in game community of an mmorpg as shit you say in game will directly impact your character and your standing within the game so you won't see people in world chat argueing about stupid shit unless they want to add themselves to everyones black list. It's just like real life, you can talk/act a certain way when you're hanging out with your friends but you'll probably get fired if you act that way in your work place so you have to act differently. Oh lord help me, i'm going to die if i don't get to play this game soon... I'm going so crazy that i don't even know if i'll be able to keep my sanity much longer!

I hope people can read this post and learn what not to post in response to someone. I myself would just like to see more customization options in general be it slider or preset boxes we click on. I just don't want to see 100 white haired mithras that look like me in jeuno while I'm thinking about how great I am. At this point it's mostly out of our control. So why are we arguing to each other about this stuff when you can take it straight to the man? Make it feel good.

But seriously: if you aren't arguing for sliders as a mechanism to make warped characters, what is your real argument? That you want a character exactly 2/3rds of the way between Height 3 and Height 4 and the game feels lacking without it?
