Can't remember who the 4th guy is, tbh. I didn't pay that much attention to the Republican Primary, since they all need to suck off the Tea Party to have any hope of winning, which is a goddamn tragedy. I wouldn't mind some of the Republicans I've seen winning if they didn't have to skew so far right of sane.

The truth is probably somewhere in the middle of the 2 options I postulate: Law enforcement likely saw drones as an effective way to deal with hard to monitor, or area's that traditional methodology made cost prohibitive and Obama said "Yeah, that makes sense. Go for it".

I keep hearing that Obama is infringing on civil liberties and I agree in a lot of cases (Gitmo should have already been closed, for instance). But the drones are easier to explain by how they're useful and who originally wanted to use them vs conspiracy theories with no long term motives. As with anything, the best judge of a persons actions are their intentions and I have never heard of Obama saying he intended for drones to be used on American citizens the way that they're starting to be used. The people who are directly in charge of operating them, however......

If a thief never says he stole anything is he not a thief? Obama's sole job is to pass and veto bills. Looking at his signing record, I would say neither he's just spinning his words to seem extraordinarily less hawkish than he really is. His actual policies make every republican from Reagan and earlier look like patsies. And bush an later look like colleagues.

Drones have been on US soil for a while, drone strikes have not.

I have never heard of Obama saying he intended for drones to be used on American citizens the way that they're starting to be used.

Yes. You literally have to steal something to be a thief, or go to the moogle and change your job. If you've stolen something, you have a thief. But if someone calls you a thief, they have to prove it. It's called guilty until proven innocent.

It's hard to sign bills that never pass the halls of congress. Snark aside, I tried actually finding a lists of things the man has signed and failed. I found the signed legislation page on the whitehouse's website, but without numbers. I'd want to compare them to other Presidents, and also have a breakdown of totals by year. So if you have that and its not from something balls on chin crazy, please provide it.

As for comparing his policies to Bush, you're an idiot. You are comparing the killing of radicalized American's living in Yemen or Afghanistan to starting a war that has wasted thousands of lives for personal (fun and) profit. Or are you? Are you really saying that those killed are the base for moral outrage because of their American citizenship? What about the tens of thousands of Iraqi and Afghan civilians killed -by Americans- in the wars we started? How about all the Americans that have died in Iraq, when we shouldn't have even been their in the first place? Maybe it's not that and its the 'terrorists' lack of rights. The 'black sites', with suspected terrorists flown from country to country and tortured for hours to avoid Constitutional rights to non-Americans? Look at the date on that last link. Shut.the.fuck.up.

When Obama starts talking about invading N.Korea or Iran to "Free the people" then he's being a hawk. When he makes an executive decision to curb stomp Americans on American soil THEN he's gone and used the Constitution as his ass paper. When groups of people he doesn't agree with start disappearing, then let me know. Until then, shut up. You're repeating what you have been told, not what you know.

Just a note: Several cab companies are offering free rides from your house to your poling place and back. Couldn't find one central website, but you can try looking it up in your area to see if there are any. I know yellowcab is offering it in at least LA and Oakland, but I don't know if it's yellowcab everywhere.

Mine is different this year. It has the same basic oval shape but now says "I voted" in 6 different languages along the outer rim.

SF "I voted" sticker says it in English, chinese, and spanish and is a maroon circle.

I didn't get a sticker. Woe is me. I voted early because my family and I had other business at the various county government buildings, and they were planning on being out of town today (which they are) so I just got a ballot too.

All the stickers I've ever seen irl, though, have been the same simple red circles with "I voted!" in white.

Are you asking me to prove that Obama actually drone striked libya and supplied the rebellion? Or that Obama killed a US citizen with a drone strike without a trial? Or that he signed into the law that made that legal? Or that he didn't resign the patriot act? Or the NDAA? Or ACTA? Or that he didn't follow Bush's exact exit strategy and surge?

Are you asking for proof of these things?

You can't seriously disagree that the most warhawk man alive is going to look like a pansy next to Stalin. That doesn't mean they aren't a hawk. Obama is the hawk next to a bigger hawk. Gary Johnson is the peace candidate.

Funny you give the whole innocent until proven guilty speil, but look over the fact that Obama has ordered numerous terrorists and their families dead without trial. Not only did he order it, he pushed for legislation so that he could do it. This is the entire reason the terrorists hate the US. We are so far removed from the filthy violence our leaders propagate, we don't even realize our candidates aren't peacekeepers they are warhawks.
