    NFS: Most Wanted

Out next week and no demo released...

I loved Burnout: Paradise and this looks just as good (after watching the GS video of it). But, I haven't liked any of the arcade racing games that have been out since Paradise including the same dev's last racer.

I'm wary about it and I probably shouldn't have, but I just pre-ordered on newegg with a 20% code (EMCJNHE52) that's only good this weekend.

Anyone else have high hopes for this one after experiencing the recent garbage from the genre?

I'm picking this up as well. It's been a good two weeks for racing because Forza Horizon came out last week and that has been pretty awesome as well. I've been struggling on whether I want this for PC or Xbox though. My preorder is still for Xbox but Hot Pursuit looks so good on PC...

I still love burnout 3, this one is lacking that feeling.

Bah, pre-order and they don't even put it in the mail until release date...

Hopefully I get it by this weekend.

Having fun so far. had to stop to do the eating thing...
I crash pretty easy but should get better as i play. Game looks great and plays smooth. Cars dont handle as arcadey as Burnout Paradise but its still very arcadey.

RacerX34 if anyone gets it on ps3.

At least I got to play the 1-hr demo. I have a save with the first most wanted race and car done for when my copy arrives^^

Some stuff I liked better in Paradise, but this still seems like fun.

Edit: I checked the tracking #, I get my copy today just in time to be interrupted every 5 mins for trickortreaters!

    Just ignore the door.

So near as i can tell there are 3 jackspots for each car? Found about 50 last night. The Land Rover is really fun to drive while being chased..although it is hard to outrun anything it can smash everyone.

I played it at GamesCon 2012 London, a demo build, a race mode and a get away from police mode.

To be honest, it looks great, but I don't see anything "good" about it to justify why I should get this. But then reading the above, if there's going to be a Burnout-style mode (crash/cause damage) then I might re-evaluate. I've not actually looked up anything about this game, just played the demo.

Got my copy. Quite a bit worse than Paradise. AI with magic speed and police that cannot be countered at times going at impossible speeds.

Wish it was either a Paradise sequel or the pre-pubescent police chases were removed. Not to mention, the ridiculous cut-scenes stealing time at every race restart.

I'm still going to play through it, but this is kind of another step down from what the studio did at the start of the console gen with Paradise.

The more I play, the more I'm disappointed. The police chases forced on you means you cannot even free-roam in an open world game. There is not enough boost to make cornering fun. The loading screens... if you finish a race and want to retry, you have to load a finish screen, then load the controls for the menu again, then possibly load a busted or crash screen while waiting for the menu, then load the race again. An open world racing game that makes use of checkpoints on every race to ensure only the scripted course can be used and AI that makes use of the magic "always can catch up and pass you, then slows down in the last 15 seconds so you can win" tactics.

This is abysmal planning on the part of the Paradise crew. I will never touch a Criterion game again after becoming a huge fanboy from Paradise. They are now a garbage dev imo.

The original NFS: Most Wanted was the pinnacle of NFS imo. This version feels like nothing more than racing in circles, with a bunch of load screens in between and cops/opponents have have a "cheat speed" button on their dash.

This is pretty much how I feel. I thought Criterion did a great job with Hot Pursuit but this game is a huge disappointment. Back to Forza Horizon for me.

It is still a fun game but, at the same time, it could have been so much better.
