Guys.
Guys.
I know the solution to make this work.
Guys.
Spoiler: show
Actually, upon further reflection, I'm confident it's not going to be any worse than Episode 1. And probably as good as, if not better than, Episode 2 and 3. Marvel has made some damn good movies while ultimately owned by Disney, hopefully Lucasfilms can do the same thing.
I'm hoping they just move the franchise forward 30 years and we see old Luke, Leia, and Han with the original actors. They don't have to be the stars of the piece, but I would really like to see them. Moving the series forward just a year or three and casting new actors in the old roles? No thanks.
Or have them take place prior to E1. For instance: Taken by the Hutts, starring Liam Neeson as Qui-Gonn Jinn, whose daughter has been kidnapped by a Hutt crime lord, and is off to track him down using his very particular set of skills.
Man, considering how much 'canon' material has been written about after 6... I have to wonder what the wiki nerds are gonna do when 7 comes in and stomps all over it.
as much as Id love to see it, I dont think there is enough money for harrison ford to want to come back to the series, he hates the star wars franchise with a passion
Whedon Thrawn Trilogy.
Anything else is just shattered dreams.
Ben Kuchera did a bunch of tweets from the investors call if you guys are interested. I'm not going to even begin to put the images here; it's way too many.

inb4 SW:VII Plot is centered around somebody that is a clone of Vader, tried to become a Jedi, couldn't, took over Luke's life after Luke dies, saves the galaxy by stopping meteors (that may or may not have cloaking devices).
So if Disney allows the University of Oregon to use the image of Donald as their mascot, does this mean that Ole Miss will be able to use Admiral Ackbar as theirs, after all?
Need to redo the South Park Indiana Jones episode and include Mickey raping Indiana Jones with Spielberg and Lucas since we all know it's going to happen with the next movie.
A new Star Wars film, with possibly good writing(compared to the prequels)?
Spoiler: show
Thrawn trilogy or Heir To The Empire, or I'll be insanely cautious about seeing them.
My god. So many golden quotes and ideas in this thread so far already. I came to post this article but it was here already.
That being said I'm pretty sure all of the original actors hate Star Wars. As it has defined their lives for the most part and I'm sure they know more about how nuts Lucas is than the general public. But I'd really hope to see them in the new movies somehow. Ford at the very very least. I highly doubt Fischer would even consider the idea. And mark Hammel just... Didn't age well. Almost unrecognizable to his younger self.
I am not too familiar with this, but I heard there was a story that continued on with the events after the original trilogy that had Luke having a child, and Leia having a child with Han, and both children were taught by Luke who was trying to restore the Jedi Order or something with Leia and Hans son falling to the dark side?
I heard above story mostly also. And leia and Hans dark side child kills Luke's baby's mama
