thread might have spoilers at some point btw
going to see this today
I've found that it's love/hate, but more people love it than hate it. You will get confused initially, but you'll get used to the scene changes. If you're a guy who likes movies that experiment with formula, then you might like it.
prepare for feels
what i liked to do most during the film, was to try and find the connections between the different time periods. I'm still not sure i caught them all. Some are more obvious than others.
I saw that this got really bad reviews when it came out and then Obama.
yes
Right-o this week skyfags, next week TWILIGHTFUCKINGKILLMEPLEASE and the week after cloud atlas, assuming is on mexican teathers by then.
what
Movie schedule, moving house happened between skyfall and twilight saga; sadly it only delays the imminent.
I was really stirred up after the movie, feelings of love and sentimentality mingling with rebellion and a sense of justice and the meaningful value of a drop (or millions of them) in an ocean
in all honesty, had I been at home and in private, I would have liked to have a good cry, just to release some of that, it was pretty overwhelming to feel so many things at once
Spoiler: show
i thought you might like it since you liked that stupid movie with the tree and the guy and the different lives with his dying bitch girlfriend that he was trying to find a cure to. Given that, i had thought i would hate this movie, but i was pleasantly surprised at how its possible pretentiousness did not turn me off
the truly bizarre thing is my girlfriend noted the similar story telling as The Fountain yet I did not
I was too busy trying to keep up with the threads of the story, which for the first 30-45 minutes was quite overwhelming in detail, Tom Hanks' pidgin-speak notwithstanding. Plus the fact that it wasn't so blatantly the same people across 3(+) time periods nor did the relevance of the same actors become clear until later. Also they rarely looked the same, Hugh Grant even changing his voice for his initial character back in 1849, so much so that I thought perhaps someone else who resembled him played the part
in any case, shockingly bad form on my part and![]()

also, noting the similarity, and the amount it had moved me, I wondered if after 10 years, a movie might jostle my unquestioned favorite movie (I don't even number it, I let the others quibble for the top 1-10 that exists among mere mortal movies) from its place on high, or at least have the audacity to bear wax wings toward the sun
why do I talk like this?
i will crew with you on this one, howie, this movie rustled my sentimental jimmies
that stupid asian bitch made me feel hopeful
now if only I knew which blatant injustice to rebel against
well i don't know about your white heterosexual ass, but i am going to rebel against the fact that i can't marry my bf if the abominable thought of marrying ever for some illogical reason possessed my little head
