Looks like Yahoo picked up on the story

"I initially selected Obama but Romney was highlighted," writes Centralpavote on YouTube, of the glitch in central Pennsylvania. "I assumed it was being picky so I de-selected Romney and tried Obama again, this time more carefully, and still got Romney."

A software developer, the man tried troubleshooting the screen, selecting different names. But "the top of Romney's button down to the bottom of the black checkbox beside Obama's name was all active for Romney." A few more taps and he discovered that the only way to select Obama was to click on a small sliver of the screen. All of the buttons for the other candidates seemed to work fine.
Other voters at the precinct didn't have the same problem, he said, and the volunteer didn't seem concerned. "She him hawed for a bit then calmly said, 'It's nothing to worry about, everything will be OK,' and went back to what she was doing," he wrote. "I then recorded this video." He insists that the video is unedited—the jumpy looking frames are from the camera app on his Android phone, he says.

Hey fuck you, Minnesota is the only state that has voted D every time since 1984. Wisconsin has voted D more times in a row than California has.

The first step to dismissing a group of people is to demonize them.

I mean, they clearly aren't capable of having opinions that while different from your own, yet still valid.

This is why I hate talking politics with friends. It's so easy to simply dismiss entire points of view by blanketly demonizing one or two positions. Is it so hard to believe that people with different life experiences can think different things and not be flat out wrong? It's no wonder we're so divided.

Find a third party candidate and vote for them. It'd at least encourage them to keep trying next election cycle so we get more options.

If I wasn't in a swing state that's what I'd be doing, but fuck if I'm gonna let Romney and Ryan get near the white house.

that would be as stupid as saying people who don't own land/home or don't at least contribute within a certain threshold towards taxes should be allowed to vote.

    Back to election stuff:

Happened here in Canada too for the last Federal Election.

But in our case, it was intentionally done by a third party to mess with votes lol.

If it ever gets to the point where a 3rd party is viable and even has a shot in an election, it won't be during my life time. I don't care enough to be a part of history or do some shit for my great great great grandkids. That'll be their bridge to cross when they get to it, lol.

sure is easier than accepting that an intelligent and moral individual could come to an opinion diametrically opposed to one of your own tho

As a third party voter, this is something I hold dear. I don't care who you vote for ... just vote. Pick a third party, write in your grandma (or if you're in MD Santa Claus is an official write in), whatever ... do it because its our right. In addition, even of you're like me and in a state where your vote means practically dick, there's plenty of other things on a ballot worth voting for or against. 95% of my reasons for going to vote today are because I'm supporting gays, gambling, and education for illegals.

You weren't born during Ross Perot's time? He had the closest shot to date.

That partially sums it up, though I do care about shit that directly effects me, (the amount I care depending on how great the effect), but for example, my last post about abortion. I made that post based on my common sense. Whether it is or isn't implemented, has no relevance to me, hence I don't give a shit.

I have a lot of opinions on views, some of them I just don't give a shit about.

Do you need a social security number to enter school? I honestly don't know, never had to deal with it since I was born here despite having immigrants as parents(1 being illegal).

There's exceptions to every rule! <3

My point was meant to be taken literally. Uneducated voters (edit: and specifically those who vote against their own interests) are worse than undecided voters (edit: people who know the issues and are genuinely on the fence). This abortion argument, and the great article that was posted which illustrates how the pro-choice movement is actually more pro-life than the pro-life movement, is an excellent example of that. Yeah there's gray-area in a lot of discussion, no doubt. News places like FOX would like us to believe that it comes down to science vs. religion argument, but the reality is that it's common sense vs. study, neither of which is included on the religious side, and hence why it's an outdated idea anyway.

If only we could have a third party candidate actually make a solid run for office. The system is rigged for a two-party system though and it always feels like damned-if-you-do vs. damned-if-you-don't. You can fill that in with the candidates of your choice

If you voted Obama we're going to get attacked by bald held men in black suits who have been to every historical event in the past.
If you voted Romney we're going to get attacked by an evil cult that is going to outlaw soda's/coffee and the ability to watch football on sundays because T.V is bad on Sunday.
