It's election day. Predictions and further discussion.

Just got through voting in VA, those True the Vote assholes are out there in full force. Someone threatened to call the cops and they scattered like roaches.

Pretty big turnout in NYC, though it took about 25mins due to herpaderp poll workers.

I'm sticking with my earlier 294-244 prediction for Obama.

Mostly I'm looking forward to all the delicious Conservative tears after Romney loses. It will be glorious.

Id like to see your tears with 20 trillion in debt and a failing social security in the coming years.

You mean if Romney wins right?

Poll workers here had a very friendly but sorta cold attitude. Friendly towards all the old people and "eh" towards the younger ones.

    That's Kansas for you.

@test; Can you explain how the debt with Obama will go up when he's actually lowered the deficit, and cutting things like our military budget. And after reworking Medicare so it can last longer.

The last time I voted was the 2008 election. I've since moved 4 times, all within New York State. https://voterlookup.elections.state.ny.us still has my original address as my residential address, so does anyone know if I can go to the polling place assigned to that address in order to vote?

    Should be able to.

Just talked to a friend who said they voted Romney simply because he doesn't support abortion and Obama wants to use their money to fund Planned Parenthood.

Predicting lots of drama surrounding Ohio, more than usual, and with all the other shady shit I've heard about Republicans' last-ditch effort to "steal" the election. Would be lots of lols to be had if Romney somehow won pop. vote and lost electoral.

My current method for dealing with...this...is to just ask them if they'd like me to explain what is wrong with their statement. If they say yes, explain why in a lucid manner and watch as they stumble and fumble to explain their idiocracy. If not, delete them from Facebook.

Per my argument earlier that I hope this election ends up being a landslide (as opposed to close/practically a tie), this article explains it well:
    http://www.cnn.com/2012/11/05/opinio...tml?hpt=hp_bn7

Ultimately, much better chance that the extreme fringes of the right die off as a result of losing so badly in what should've been the most winnable election in the past 50+ years.

What the fuck is with voting this year. For some reason they changed my voting place to somewhere literally 10x the distance. And when I get there I have to bubble in some shit and scan it? What happened to my levers and shit. That was in and out.

Good, another reason to make excuses for "compromising" and allowing shit like the XL pipeline to get muscled through congress.

Also, to anyone looking to keep their sanity during election night, DemocracyNow is doing this:

Tune in Tuesday night from 7pm ET to 1am ET for Democracy Now’s live special coverage of the 2012 election. Amy Goodman and Juan Gonzalez, along with Jeremy Scahill will offer real time results from presidential and congressional races, and bring you coverage of voter suppression efforts and key issues in the race. More
There will probably be lots of reports outside the echo-chamber that will cover any accounts of actual voter fraud or the inevitable "poor black folk getting turned-away by droves" stories.
