I think the connections between Nael, megaflare, and there being a Dragon sealed within Dalamud is enough for me to think its Bahamut.

Shinryu has almost always been a more asian style serpent-like dragon though. Bahamut normally gets the Medieval treatment.

Edit: And isn't the time-skip supposed to be more like 100 or so years?

A press release around TGS said the time skip is 5 years.

Let's not forget that Bahamut manipulated Nael to be freed. I highly doubt he'd want freedom just to obliterate everything, he probably has some sort of agenda of his own. This is probably just a demonstration of his power to the people of Eorzea.

I think its safe to assume that all the key characters who appear in the FMV will return in some form.
Kan E-Senna, Merlwyb, Raubahn, Loiusoix and the other circle members... and whoever the people from the original opening FMV that carried over into the newer ones are. (unless they're meant to be us)

How the flaming hell would we ever be able to take Bahamut on? >.> that giant.. sword looking thingy that fell from Dalamud was hundreds of feet tall, and it was dwarfed by Dalamud itself, and Bahamut's wingspan was even larger than Dalamud.

IDC how you'd try to do the gameplay, he'd have to have a hundred billion HP at such a size. XD I'm so excited I could explode!!!
