Well that was emotional... Music was so awesome. Dissapointed I couldnt log in for the event, was pretty pissed at waking up at 6am but the CS made it ok!

Not many companies put a lot of resources and efforts into polishing and making their CGI look as epic as Square has ever for the generation they release it for, every game they've done since as earliest as FF7 that I know of, they've never once made a CGI that didn't. 1- Kill my console(so many PS1s killed by your damn amazing CGI in every game I played) 2- Make me think I was being delivered some half assed in-game cut scene bullshit because they wanted to save money.
The event was just an interlude to the trailer. Having the server all in the area as the empire attacks.
I'm not so sure if Final Fantasy could go as dark as something like Lovecraft but... although FFXIV certainly has had its dark moments already, so who knows.
A Gandalf by slamming his staff down and teleporting everyone, or just in general? Haha.
Glad I didnt miss much so!
Assuming the event went smoothly, all we would have been doing is fighting imperials like in the previous Imperial events (with some Magiteks added here and there). Instead of r0 QQing we'd have "this shit is boring" QQ instead.
Why do I have so much feel for an NPC Q_Q?
lol just went through all of my pics... Gonna put a video together for the lulz. This game changed a fuck ton since alpha/beta.
So what happened to Nael and the rest of his crew in the airships? Surely they would have been destroyed in all that fire unless they somehow escaped. Perhaps Louisoix's teleport spell just affects everyone on the planet and sends them along with it.
Defying the big bad, saving everyone, and dying.
And I jut meant something with more.....depth than just a monster that's gonna destroy things. I wanted VII's Meteor + VIII's Lunar Cry + V and VI's world altering chaos. People pointed out that Baha as we saw him isn't really something you can fight, so considering the fact that in 5 years shit's largely back to normal it's a bit anticlimactic that the problem was resolved without us. If it had been a more reasonably proportioned Bahamut with an army of demonic monsters and some permeating darkness tainting the world it would give the story a lot more to go on.
When I watch the CS I can't help but wonder why the Empire is apparently cool with the world ending considering a) they're in it and b) you can't conquer rubble.
More questions than answers (badum-tss) about what's gonna be going on in the 5 year interim.
Spoiler: show
Probably, I don't know all their names.
I just found this, they are doing an official translation here. http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/threads/57667
Iirc it's only the VIIth Legion that's fighting, Gaius is supposed to be going away from the battlefield. The VIIth Legion still thinks Nael is alive so they keep going on with his plans, Gaius never agreed with him which is why he warns us during the pilgrimage.
holy fuck that was an epic cgi, think thats got to be the first time i've simultaneously shed tears, jizzed pants and squeee'd like a little girl....damn you SE and your awesome cgi
Wow... gotta give it up to Square for their god-tier CGI. So gonna give this game another chance.
