ezekieal, is there a way to disable AA altogether in CCC?

here's my problem, ever since i upgraded to my 670 (from a gtx 560 ti), i've been having problems. not only the periodic crashing from having shadows/weather turned on that everyone's talking about, but also severe frame rate drops during some cutscenes, that i do not experience on my secondary computer, which is currently running the aforementioned 560.

since the 670 is still under warranty, i bought a 7970 to test drive. it does not experience the crash that the 600 series are suffering with, however i am still having the same frame rate drop problems. on the 670 though i noticed i can fix a lot of those problems by setting all the anti aliasing settings to "off"; leaving them as "use application settings" still results in lag. which is really strange since, as i understand it, ffxi doesn't use AA. i'm trying to do something similar with the 7970 but i can't find any options to force-disable AA.

Really sorry about the delay with replying(and the resulting necro bump) and I hope you were able to get things sorted out.

Default AA use under CCC is "application settings" which obviously FFXI doesnt use.

I cant really think of what the issue could be, I am using the latest beta "never settle" driver which is 12.11 beta11 and not having any issues.

Maybe you have some conflict from old drivers on your system or maybe it is some other part of your system, although admittedly both of these ideas are clutching at straws.

    Really is a strange one.

Oh another thing completely unrelated is obviously I am new to the forum and dont use forums very often at all, and forgive me if I am being really stupid but is there any way to get an email whenever anyone replies to a thread I have posted in?

I did. It turned out to be nothing within my PC. It was my PSU not supplying my GPUs with sufficient power. Ever since connecting my PC directly into the wall outlet, the problem's have gone away.
