I just think it's a difference in how a person evaluates their level of happiness. The people giving advice on how to increase their partner count above 0 are doing the "man-talk" just to get the number up, because they evaluate 0 = unhappy. But not everyone equates 0 sex partners to being unhappy, it could definitely be something related, but it's not something sex can fix.

I know my case is different, and not to sound too stereotypical, but I would be happier with sexless intimacy than sex without intimacy.
