Let's not kid ourselves. If, somehow, Texas decided to leave, they wouldn't be alone. The resulting political shift in the remaining states would completely change the party system. The current dem part might become the middle party, the remaining republicans the right, and there would probably emerge a newer, left-er leaning party, the neo-dems or something. America would be fundamentally altered by the change.
I might disagree with policies, but what America has achieved over it's 200 years and how it has grown and changed should be celebrated, not torn apart. The loss of Texas would be a loss of national identity...even ignoring stupid issues like free travel, border patrols, military forces and integration...
