For the record, we haven't actually even been in the Crystal Tower yet. What we currently have access to is basically the courtyard. And that tower is mighty tall.

I fully expect it to be 3 patches total for CT, maybe 4.

Labyrinth -> Tower -> Dark World
    OR
    Labyrinth -> Eureka -> Tower
    OR
Labyrinth -> Eureka -> Tower -> Dark World

I don't expect the "Tower" itself to be more than 1 raid comprising of a long elevator / stairs / teleporters

While Yoshida has kept the nostalgia pretty baller,
(The only enemies in Ancient's Maze in 3 being: Iron Claws, Greater Demons, Thanatos, Bone Dragon, King Behemoth, Unei's Clone and Titan)
and Titan in 3 is a palette swap of Acheron (or vice versa, I guess or technically Hecatonchier but w/e) and Acheron is fought in Eureka, not the Maze so it's possible we see some "out of place" bosses (if you can call them 'out of place')

fun fact: Platinals are found within the Tower itself in FF3 and not the Maze!

Yes. This is a huge plot point, and I can't recall if Ifrit mentions it in 2.0 but he definitely makes us vow to never summon a Primal in 1.0; there's also several mentions that the Twelve are essentially our version of Primals blah blah yes yes yes

pls refer to it by it's true name "Object 199" as my FF feels and nostalgia demand it

Well, yeah. I remember Alphinaud and Alisaie giving the whole "we're not so different" speech. I just meant whether it was possible for non-beastmen to summon the Primals, not the Twelve. I guess that Ifrit quote answers my question though (I didn't play 1.0).

I mean specifically the Primals though. Supposedly in the future, players will be able to summon Primals in the field, so maybe that answers my question for me. Though, I wonder if that would be another one of those 'perks' of having the echo and not representative of the ability for non-beastmen races to summon Primals instead of the Twelve.
Just speculating about where Shiva might pop up and who's fault it will be. Most likely I'm wrong and it will be a new beastman race, thought it'd be an interesting twist if it was the Holy See faffing about with summoning to try to put down the dragons once and for all.

I figured Shiva would be the Gigas's Primal, and we've not heard anything pertaining to her because Ishgard is too preoccupied with its war to apply any meaningful pressure to the Gigas.

While it isn't a bad guess and may end up being right, I'm personally hoping the plethora of hints regarding Allagan/Gigas connection end up bearing fruit instead of Shiva.

(It should be noted that there are several counter arguments to Allagan/Gigas relations, one of which being "Nael van Darnus is referenced as having the blood of Allag in his veins!")

Obviously the Darnus elves were slaves of the mighty gigas overlords

Patch 2.0: Ascians are obviously Allagans
Patch 2.1: Gigas are obviously Allagan descendants

What will Patch 2.2's crazy solracht theory be?
Betting Sahagin = Moogles = Allagans

The only thing I remember hearing about Shiva's summoners is that they're "large" and have an "icy demeanor" according to the FF wikia (is there a more reliable lore database yet?). That could be taken a few different ways but would likely mean a new beastman faction. Technically Ishgardian Elezen are large and give the cold shoulder / an arrogant demeanor to the rest of Eorzea, though that might be a bit of a leap.
Wasn't there a 'touched' guy locked up in Dragonhead somewhere that acted like a Tempered as well? Or was dragon-enchanted or something? I thought they implied he was tempered by Bahamut but afaik there aren't others that have been. The whole "dragon's thrall" thing is another thing that I'm curious about. How does the Dravanian army enchant others? Is it just a superstition of Ishgard or do they temper people like Primals? Or is it something altogether unrelated?

We don't know. Some people are seemingly tempered by dragons, yes. There were hints that the dragons worshiped a Primal in 1.0, yes. The Empire went so far as to kidnap the Theologian who posited the dragons were planning on summoning a Primal in 1.0.

Unfortunately I don't think there's a better lore database aside from picking various people's brains. Gamerescape has the potential to evolve into a good lore database, but FF wikia has more drudgery drones pushing shit onto it.

Dragons, as a whole, seem to have the ability to control 'lesser' dragons/people. Dragons seem to work something like a hivemind, honestly and people can seemingly be subject to this. There are dragon cultists/heretics locked up in Whitebrim, yes.

This is a bit of a shot in the dark but there was teasing at one point that new races might/would be added for character creation. One of those was a dragonkin (the other was demi-hume).

I don't really think we'd ever see playable beastmen, but maybe the original concept got reassigned.

Yoshida specifically mentioned in one of those interviews that CT would be four tiers, presumably over four updates.

    http://www.bluegartr.com/threads/119...=1#post5981517

Regarding the Crystal Tower, right now we can only enter the early turns of the Binding Coil of Bahamut - is this similar in Crystal Tower?

Yoshida: The initial state of Crystal Tower will include four bosses. Once all four bosses are complete, the raid will be clear. You'll get to enjoy more of the Tower in 2.3.

    ...

Well, for example, the Binding Coil of Bahamut is divided up into five separate turns, is there anything like that for the Crystal Tower?

Yoshida: It's just one. Basically this is like the first tier of the Crystal Tower. The Crystal Tower itself will be a four tiered structure, but the amount of content in each tier is different than the amount of content in one turn of the Binding Coil.

Wonder how I missed it, I don't remember seeing it the last two times I was in that area lol.

That's midgarsmorugushgsosm right? I think I remember him from the 1.0 intro cs, but don't remember what ever happened to him.

I... don't know if you're trolling or not... The Keeper of the Lake has been such a prominent landmark... Not to mention the Battle of Silvertear Falls and not knowing about the aftermath is like not knowing about the fall of Tavnazia in XI ; it's the thing that literally sets up the entire story... The Echo sounds when Midgardsormr plunges the Agrius into the center of the world's aether

Yes, it's Midgardsormr, we first learned the Dragon's name in 1.0 from Elrik during the Monk quests. It's said to be the protector of Silvertear Lake as ordered by Nymeia and Althyk (unsure about the first god name, sure about the second).

Given recent developments it's probably Allagans.

I think i remember seeing that battle play out in the game at one pint and I wondered if I could travel and see the landmark. I knew it was in the game but I never knew where it was.

To be fair, who looks up in this game? I'm still surprised by some things I see when I'm not staring down at an angle. I didn't know CT was visible in Mor Dhona proper until it was pointed out to me :V

You don't even have to look up to see it! It's literally right across from Saint Coinach's Find.
