Flip through the creator next time you're doing nothing. I'm fairly certain that you can add one to lalafells (of one clan, at least), and I think I've seen it on others as well. It looks just like Cid's.
I like that Ramuh is our Brovatar and we don't just have to fight him because a bunch of fanatical sylphs want to kill everything.
Fitting since the sylphs aren't an inherently aggressive race and Ramuh is the only primal thus far that's more or less "human" (rather than some bestial or monstrous humanoid) and has the wise old man jive going.
2.3 is the patch of lore, I swear.
Mistbeard revealed.
Edda's psychosis realized.
Dravanians exposed.
Proto-pudding mentioned.
Acheron renamed.
SO ON AND SO FORTH.
so far the post Ramuh arc is some of the dumbest and most redundant shit they've pulled in a while lol, I hope it gets better. Very jarring because I've really enjoyed the 2.3 story content up to this point.
Yeah, the 'fillers' felt annoying to me too. I get what they were trying to do with them after seeing the final missions, but still...
Story didn't flow well at all, and ofc the obligatory "they still have us running around fetching dumb shit".
Refugee problems in Uldah, power crazy Syndicate guy trying to find Omega to rule the world- wait NVM time for Levi, ok, forget Levi now onto this unrelated new GC thing, hand out some uniforms and shit.
Leviathan wasn't in this patch. Did you even read the quests? Damn, son.
Levinthan
You didn't see him?
Spoiler: show
Wondering if the new company will (eventually) be something players can join/reap the benefits of, or if it's just plot-driving. Like once/if Revenant's Toll becomes big enough to be its own town, or Ishgard/expansion or something.
Speaking of, Revtoll expanding in each update is kind of odd if you haven't been up to date in each patch. Since I think even as a new player it's full of people/stalls.
Shut up, you know what I meant -_-
I know WoW uses phasing for stuff like that, but I don't think S-E ever used it to this extent. I was also thinking it will be odd for new players, especially even further down the road, depending on how much stuff changes, but I guess it's something they decided to just leave be.
I liked the symbolism behind Nero throwing his gunblade away to leap into the void. What little connection he had to Garlemald is gone and soon shall he be reborn dragon to the Cloud of Darkness. Hopefully without being completely mind thralled.
All because our heroes are idiots and let this guy not only roam around Allagan ruins without restraint (they forget he's the guy that restored Ultima?) and suit up for battle. Nero couldn't have been more obviously up to some shit if he tried.
Nero was giving me some Tactics Ogre Vyce vibes all through that story. He's whatever you don't want him to be, baby. Also, that goddamn awesome face and 5 o'clock shadow of his. He's absolutely a Disk 3 boss, or a Kefka-esque potential final boss. Love it!
Do you really think Nero will be a villain again?
I thought so, but at the same time it would feel like the most expected development ever.
I am under the impression he's eager to learn about "new stuff" - he's an inventor / scientist after all - but not just as an excuse to take over the world.
He's sincerely interested in the Cloud of Darkness, I know, but he also looked like he meant to save the girl.
Sure, he gives the whole "I'll help you, but only because it profits me!" speech I have been earing since Piccolo, but he's still trying to help. Plus, Cid tells you that your friends have been captured by Darkness, so he seems to include Nero as well.
My guess is that Nero will be a boss in CT3, but Cloud of Darkness will still retain her spot as final encounter.
OR he could pull a Kefka, like you wrote.
So I read that apparently, Edda was actually in 1.0 and a quest involving her was all about making her give up necromancy.
I've been trying to find more solid information but, God that would certainly make Tamtara Deepdroft (Hard) make a lot more sense, wouldn't it?
Finding said quest though from the forgotten days is a bit of a hassle though. Don't suppose any lore masters here could shed light on this 1.0 Edda connection to necromancy? It's sort of mildly driving me bonkers not being able to find it.
Unfortunately I don't think that's true. Edda is one of the many adventuring parties added in 2.0 that do the first 3 dungeons with you. I feel like someone would've noticed the necromancy ties sooner, either myself or one of the loremongers at the OF.
Perhaps you're right.
That's definitely one of the lore things that interests me most; the actual NPCs and quests from 1.0 that somehow get referenced in ARR.
Also the slightly changed dialogue if you beat Nael in the previous 1.0 version. These nuances are infinitely interesting to me somehow!
I feel he's headed down the road of a pitiable opponent destroyed by his own ambitions namely either being used by the Cloud of Darkness or pulling a Hojo and turning himself into a monster. Considering the nostalgia strings this game pulls on, the Hojo thing is probably more likely than we'd think.
Nero's just in it for the science. He didn't drink from the Gaius kool-aid, went AWOL after the Praetorium events and presumably fixed Ultima just because he could. He's just driven to surpass Cid by any means. Any means. Forget he's probably the best scientist in Garlemald by a good margin and a genius among Eorzeans he just wants to stick to Cid cause fuck that guy.I am under the impression he's eager to learn about "new stuff" - he's an inventor / scientist after all - but not just as an excuse to take over the world.
He's sincerely interested in the Cloud of Darkness, I know, but he also looked like he meant to save the girl.
He didn't give a shit about that girl. He straight up says he needed her for his investigations into controlling the darkness. It's why he tosses his gunblade desperately and ends up getting sucked into the voidgate. He's going to get his wish but it'll cost him his soul or whatever. Then get crushed by you, the player.
"And that bastard Nero." is how Cid refers to him. Further, not only does Nero crack this obvious "look at me!" smile in the previous cutscene but also casually refers to the two Allagans as mere clones in a condescending manner.Sure, he gives the whole "I'll help you, but only because it profits me!" speech I have been earing since Piccolo, but he's still trying to help. Plus, Cid tells you that your friends have been captured by Darkness, so he seems to include Nero as well.
I'd like Nero to end up being the big bad but I wouldn't be surprised if whenever we cross into the voidworld that he ends up injecting himself with some shit and becoming a giant turdbeast complete with a speech about becoming godlike. Or maybe he'll end up like Zalbag as some thrall to a voidsent desperately asking us to cut him down.My guess is that Nero will be a boss in CT3, but Cloud of Darkness will still retain her spot as final encounter.
OR he could pull a Kefka, like you wrote.
