Seconding this! a wiki/library of the lore would be a really interesting read.

I'll talk to Rocl about it, but in the meantime if you need somewhere to start you can just read the DF descriptions for Coil and the journal entries for the Bahamut quests. While there are definitely some subtle hints scattered around, the bulk of the Coil lore is going to come from these two places.

Yeah, no argument that there are 3 (5) ships. I was thinking it was either we were entering different ships and Bahamut somehow faces us each time or we go down different ships and somehow keep going to the same one at the end. The issue is in turns 5 and 9 the remaining active coil/ships are positioned off to the sides.

Bahamut is regenerating, so who's to say his facing us/you isn't intentional on his part? lol

I mean, just because a nigga lost over half his body doesn't mean he can't stare at your ass from afar. He did hoe check Nael from orbit, after all. Turning a couple degrees to cast his gaze over you menacingly should be no problem.

Semi-unrelated to the coil talk, but has Louisoix always sounded so much like Jeremy Irons in the NA versions? lol

It would be awesome if in the Turn 13 fight you could see bahamut in the background and have him roar at certain times. Shit would be so hype.

Speaking of... judging by the video they released at fanfest, Turn 12 is one of the Ragnarok bridges (where Lousioix is), so the T13 fight might be Bahamut proper. Pls be hype.

Could pull a Mass Effect 2; he really is that big but you're fighting him before he's at full power so it's justifiable.

The Bahamut that's being regenerated is a lot smaller than the one we've seen outside of Coil though, and I have a feeling they'll shrink him even more if we do fight him. Also I think they might've shown us the model already:

I might be wrong but that render doesn't look like it's from the FMV. The way it looks reminds me lot of these. They could also pull a Kil'jaeden/Sinestra and just have us fight a torso. That's how Blizzard deals with huge bosses.

I'm interested in the part where a question was asked about garleans not being able to use magic, the answer was something to do with their genetics if I recall correctly but I'd like to see the entire answer in his words.

As I recall the Black Shroud was the NA localization's name for the Twelveswood. Gridanians call it the Twelveswood while outsiders refer to it as the Black Shroud (fear vs reverence). Tinolqa should be the Ixali name for the same forest.

It's definitely the Black Shroud or something really similar in every language. 黒衣森 (Black Cloth/Robe Forest) in Japanese, Sombrelinceul (Dark Shroud) in French, Finsterwalds (Dark Forest) in German.

I however have no idea about the Twelveswood / Black Shroud distinction in the other languages as I play in English and I'd need to dig deeper in the other scripts to find out.
You're right about Tinolqa though, I remember Ferne (I think) dropping an explanation about it on the OF. Plus it "sounds" Ixal, which is very heavily inspired by Mesoamerican languages.

Also, thanks for asking that question about Meracydia, I'm a bit bummed we didn't even get a hint but I guess I should've expected it. It's definitely tied to both dragons and the Allagan Empire, so we'll probably learn more about it during Final Coil / Heavensward.

lol. No but seriously. When you hear somebody is immortal (or close to it) isn't the first thing to come to mind "how old?" I mean, is she like 50? 100? 500? 1000?

Don't make me go hunt this down but I know there were previous maintenance notifications in the 1.0 era where the Japanese post specifically said "Tinolqa" to identify a zone/region.
