Someone on OF lore forums thinks that this isn't about us, it's about them.

In context of having the full story now, yeah it could concievably be about them.

Unfortunately, despite rending several divine forms asunder, we are no closer to our answers on Answers.
Primals, Ascians, dragons, mortals, Hydaelyn/Zodiark who the fuck knows right now ;;
If I remember right, the song was in the dats since the beginning of 1.0, so I would imagine it was written to be for us. I'd still love to know what their original plan for the song was.
I got a really shitty screenshot of a post Turn 12 cutscene that brings up a very interesting question.
Somewhat (un)fortunately there's not much spoiling because of a bright flash, however the important part is in the middle/epicenter of the flash too lol

No.
Also Legacy master race gets some minor acknowledgement in T12 like they did in T9.
Alisaie: Where are we?
"Your companion knows this place well, for it was here that he slew Nael van Darnus." vs "The final resting place of Nael van Darnus."
sort of thing (though even more minor)
I must've missed/forgotten the official explanation of the mark, but it makes sense considering everything. Still made me feel pump as fuck.
So now we know Path 2.5 is called Before the Fall, I was thinking what could the 'Fall' be? I think I have an idea I wanted to share: the 'Fall' will be the Garleans sweeping into the three countries and either capturing the cities or assassinating the leaders (not the Big Three though). We will end up embroiled in the whole Ishgard conflict to gain their support to take back the three countries / push back the Garleans. This would certainly be a 'big event' that Yoshi teased would be as epic as Meteorfall.
The only problem with this theory is that they have to keep the Grand Company quests in place (for the primal fights, rank up quests, etc) so the Companies and the leaders cannot be taken out themselves. Basically, quests outside of the MSQ can't be radically altered, no?
I thought it was a reference to the Sultana stepping down, but I'm dumb so that can't be it.
Thought maybe it meant the Fall of Ishgard or whatever, but idk, thought the expansion was about the war itself so that makes no sense.
Though maybe its simply our fall... I mean we're always praised and cheered as the hero of light in all the cutscenes, everyone singing our praises and such, it almost feels like they're setting us up for a big fall of some sort... a kick to our ego if you will. But this is just because my theory is (Hydawhoever) a "primal" of sorts birthed by the 5 races and their prayers after the Calamity happened, and now that the people are in no real danger since the Garleans were repelled, her presence isn't ... 'needed' anymore and she's losing power because of the lack of prayer/whatever in her, which is why we hear from her less and less since our defeat of Ultima Weapon. Perhaps the Echo will begin to fade because of this, and the expansion to come will see us without her blessing of light because of this. That doesn't feel very Final Fantasy though.
It's about the Agrius before it fell to Midgardsormr. Did none of you do 2.4 main story?
Apparently I need to go watch the cutscenes again because I have no idea what the Agrius is (the giant Garlean battleship from the original opening cutscene?).
All I remember is the guy from Ishgard tasking Scooby and the gang to keep an eye on Midgardsormr.
And that the whole thing was just a reason to be in their debt so he could ensure Ishgard would be obligated to help fund the clubhouse in Mor Dhona, implying no one actually thought it was of any real concern.
