I think items have been. It's the name of a legendary bird that leaves aroud the Yggdrasil tree in norse mythology(forgot the details but causes hurricanes I think).

My interpretation: I believe this verse is referencing the Celestial Dragon that Shiva wed. What is interesting here is the lines "A throne, lying emtpy... A reign incomplete". If the celestial dragon is being referenced, that means he is not currently leading the dragons, or in other words, was not the son of Midgarsomor that initiated the call to arms (or whatever its called for dragons). Unless its this dragon's return to his rightful place that initiated said call.
Ignoring the context that probably implies it's talking about Shiva's dragon-toy, this verse seems like it could apply to Bahamut, assuming he was in charge of the Meracydians or whoever before he got turned into a green energy source. Am I misremembering, or is there some location labelled Bahamut's Egg or something similar in the new regions? Maybe whatever happened to him pre-Dalamud and happens to him post-Coil is going to be more plot-important than we think?

There is no location named Bahamut's Egg, the Unholy Heir in Thanalan was "Bahamut's Egg;" it's a problem of someone linking the concept of the smallfolk believing something to be Bahamut's Egg to the idea of Heavensward.

Ah, makes sense; bad memory then. The verse still sounds kinda Bahamuty, but it's at least a little less likely that he's going to be the wizard that did everything in Heavensward, heh.

    It fits several stories tbh, it could always be about Nanamo! (P A R A L L E L S)

I was under the impression that this peak in Dravanian Forelands is called or referred to by npcs as bahamut's egg.

This is a common mistake/misconception which keeps getting brought up (and at one point I brought it up myself, before checking the source!)

The problem is someone, somewhere, misunderstood KojiFox at the NA Fanfest Lore panel. When he spoke of Bahamut's Egg, it was in reference to a smallfolk myth/legend explaining the appearance of the Unholy Heir in Thanalan. Bahamut fucked up the world, then a giant vaguely oval shape rock appeared and rumour spread it was Bahamut's egg (or child, or heir) that would one day hatch and raze Eorzea again much like his father before him and his celestial prison.

This question was answered (where did Unholy Heir get its name) and then he spoke of new Heavensward landmarks and the old Coerthan landmarks which were important to the Dragonsong War, etc. The main takeaway is that at no point in time was the peak in Abalathia's Spine that you've linked there been referred to as Bahamut's Egg by any official source. The major offending post that has spread this misinformation cites the NA Fanfest Lore panel, and having both been there myself and rewatched it since, I can tell you there is no naming of that peak whatsoever.

Likewise a popular theory gaining traction is that Lucia is Livia sas Junius, but there is no evidence to support this connection whatsoever. That's not to say there's any evidence contrary to this really (except her supposed death in Castrum Meridanium) so you're free to speculate; but anyways Bahamut's Egg is flat out wrong. Like we can argue about Enkidu or Lucia, but Bahamut's Egg is ipso facto a non-canon name for that peak.

Well, there is the Garlean third eye hiding under her headpiece.

But yea, her being Livia wouldn't really make any sense. She could be Garlean tho.

Oh, I edited out my bit about her circlet since I double checked my sources on Livia's origins and it would make sense if Livia was a pureblood Garlean (which is unrelated to what you said, but related to my old pre-edited post). REGARDLESS, yes, Lucia's model is Garlean w/ a third eye and the trademark platinum blonde hair it's incredibly likely she's Garlean. It's very bluntly stated she isn't Ishgardian, which means she had to have gotten in before Ishgard closed its borders as well--which points to the Battle of Silvertear Skies imo (and is detriment to the Livia theory; how did she rise to her position in the Temple Knights when outsiders have been denied entry to Ishgard?)

She seems fiercely devoted to Ser Aymeric and his ambitions, so I'd guess that she rose in position just behind him in step. People are denied entry to Ishgard yes, but that simply means she got in just before Silvertear Skies, if not before even that.

I'm willing to bet that her being Pureblood Garlean will be interesting but irrelevant over all, unless having a third eye will somehow be integral to the overall story. I'm also gonna guess that her heritage will be revealed with Varis Zos Galvus makes his way beyond Ishgard.

Yea I figure she'll just be a defector that will tie the conflict with Ishgard back into the empire like ^ that maybe.

Beside the 3rd eye, there is the scene in a CS when she mentions about forgoing the past and going forward with life (or something like this), while facing the MC. She also has them same japanese VA as Livia.

The current description of the events feels... incomplete, in the sense it only brings the heroism of Haldrath. What were Niddy's real reasons there? Was it really "Halone" talking to Thordan?

Info on Gamerescape (that was transcripted from a Lore Panel, I guess?) says:
It is said that the forebearers of the city-state lived in the southern plains, in modest circumstances, until the Fury herself, Halone, appeared before Thordan and bid he lead his people north to the Promised Land. Upon reaching this chasm, his group set about building a bridge, but was descended upon by the great wyrm, Nidhogg. The histories say that Thordan took up his spear, but was thrown into the chasm by one of his own men, seduced by the wyrm. His son, Haldrath, overcome with emotion at the loss of his father, took up Thordan’s fallen spear and lanced out Nidhogg’s eye and caused the wyrm to retreat. In time, this event would both make Haldrath the first Azure Dragoon, as well as set in motion the Dragonsong War.

Bolded doesn't add a lot of credence to the idea she's Livia. She's Garlean, and in general, she'd know the player character would have a lot of reservations about trusting a Garlean. Like, all of Eorzea would have a lot of reservations about it.

Her sharing the same VA is more compelling evidence but I still don't buy it.

Lucia, Livia, it's not a stretch to think that they're at least related, and that relationship might play an interesting role in the inevitable Garlean/Ishgard conflict, but to have them be the same person? That's bad fanfic territory. From a writer's perspective, what possible dramatic purpose would that serve?

    get out

personal feelings for mrhappy notwithstanding, there is no way anyone outside of Square Enix could know absolutely anything about Heavensward other than speculation and theories based on what little information we know; i skipped to a random part and he describes the Warring Triad as likely "allagans who offered themselves to perform a service for their fellow man" which has 0 basis and runs contrary to everything we know about Allag. The Floating Continent's technology means it fits two distinct periods of Allagan History, the first reign of Xande I or the second reign of Xande I; there's a small window of technological decay after Xande I it could also possibly be from, but both of those time periods are characterized by the expansion of the Allagan empire and subjugation of Hydaelyn. Since everything we've seen and know about the Floating Continent (Oda and Koji-Fox mentioning they needed to learn a lot about genetics; deformed ixal and chimeras) points toward some Amon-like experiments I cannot understand in any world where the natural "likely" assumption is they were 3 'good' Allagans.

I also can't imagine a world where Lucia is "likely" Livia; I'm more willing to argue Enkidu being a primal or Ilberd being Gaius than this shit.
