I still think we are going to vanadiel. They are going to repurpose vanadiel to Eorzean lore after FFXI ends support. that book in library talking about aht urghan and mamool ja confirms!!!!

Also, there is a new news reporter for the raven.

She is a part of the botany quest line and her name is Mujih Mewrilah. Same Last name as Luto Mewrilah from XI.

It probably wont be a full dive in, at least not initially. But we will be going to select places like aht urghan. Please look forward to it.

Given how the Nodes and whatever else on Azys Lla identify our races, as well identifying that the Garlean intruders are Garlean, I can't help but wonder if there's some genuine Allagans in stasis somewhere in the facilities/elsewhere.

I know it's a leap from an automated network of computer caretakers and overseers functioning for several thousand years (either unconcerned that the Allagan Empire has long since ceased to exist or that fact being irrelevant to their duties) to living flesh and blood Allagans, but still.

There was definitely a ominous feel to the scene. I assume it was either connected to WoD or actually suggesting there's more to us. They talk about the balance being shifted, but what if it turns out it's not because we also have something dark in ourselves? Although it seems do unlikely seeing how perfect the story depicts us

Someone over on reddit (I think) was tossing around the idea that the WoL may be becoming something akin to a primal. The more people we help out, the larger our legend becomes, the more belief and hope is placed into the WoL by the populace of Eorzea that if there's trouble, the WoL will be there to save them.

Y'shtola's line that's used in the release trailer does lend some credence to that thought: "You are the beacon of hope towards which all men are drawn."

Finally having finished the story, I can read this thread again. But yes going to Dragonhead after the Vault is incredibly depressing.

I thought I saw someone who did DRG storyline after finishing main story and they reference what happened at the end of the MSQ

All of the automated systems have been more or less working so I don't see why the feeding module wouldn't be.

I didn't go through as a DRG but there is (are?) some slight changes if you had all DRG job quests complete up to 50. Only thing I can remember for sure was at a certain point, Esthein mentions "with two Azure Dragoons" whereas if you didn't finish the DRG questline, it's "with the Warrior of Light and the Azure Dragoon".

I like these tiny dialog changes depending on the actions you accomplished. Like the recent-ish interactions with Thubyrgeim and Y'mhitra were slightly different for me because I completed SMN.

I noticed there's a bunch of conditionals in the dat files of the game for the NPC dialogs so it would be feasible for someone not lazy like me to gather them all.

Yea I remember the "2 Azure Dragoon" thing and how it confused the fuck out of me (it's been almost 2 years since I did that shit), what's more it makes a lot of the story seem silly when they go on about how special Estinien is and how only he can do X and Y because he's the Azure DRG when you are too <_>

I was just wondering if there were any differences if you were on DRG as you went thru the story.

I did the story on my DRG specifically for that kind of ambiance, and no, outside of that one reference to "we two Azure Dragoons", I caught nothing, including in a few places where it was kind of awkward that it didn't come up, mostly when Estinien would go on about how important it was that he be there/do something/whatever since he's the Azure Dragoon. Got it covered, dude, and you're still a jerk for that stuff in the 30-50 job quests.

The final 2.x stuff actually did a better job at this, when he turns up as the dragon expert before the big fight and says something along the lines of "you guys should actually probably listen to this guy, he's better at dragooning than I am, but I'll go through it anyway if you want to play along".

Estinien also mentioned him being possesed/controlled by Nidhogg before. However the big issue I see here is doing the DRG questline after clearing Heavensward.

Yeah, the game adheres to a rather strict timeline in that regard, which imo is a good thing.

RE: Estinien, I don't remember him ever talking much about himself being important as the Azure Dragoon but rather other people talked about him being important as the Azure Dragoon. Our status of the 2nd Azure Dragoon shouldn't be widely known as Estinien's theft of the eye was allegedly kept secret from all of Ishgard including the archbishop somehow.
