Ilberd/Raubahn story could be a slow build through 3.X to launch us into Ala Mhigo for 4.0.

The thing is, what's the motivation to chase down Illberd? Losing an arm? Corruption? That's not quite enough, considering he's essentially just a thug with a dream now. Nanamo dead at least had Raubahn fueled by some lover's rage. Him being severed from Lolorito took any of the threat he possessed to the WoL.

(Also it's obvious Raubahn doesn't care that much about Ala Mihgo. He's got a new home and new family.)

Why should we care about Ilberd? I see him making some stupid pact with demons and getting killed off. His two lackeys were more interesting considering you tried (and failed) to reform them.

To me it just seems the 2.55 ending was A. Them wanting to end on a cliffhanger to build up hype and B. They wanted a convenient way of writing out the majority of the 2.0 cast whilst we gallivanted around Ishgard solving all their problems.

yes, that's pretty obvious but the frustrating thing is why just write them out of 3.0? why can't you write out a few of them forever and stop adding new characters to kill them off. the problem is why they can't stay dead.

I wouldn't really call Hauch and Ysale new characters. And we may call them minor characters over all, but they stuck out much more than any of the scions did individually in 2.0 imo. Both good characters with good deaths (Hauch obviously much better than Ysales, though I was fine with her scene as well).

only thing that was actually lost was Raubahn's arm.

I haven't gotten that far into the story but Hauch dying is super annoying to me. He's the only guy in the entire world that actually physically gave a shit about you as a person and not because you're Jesus Christ, which is less than what I can say about the Scions.

Edit: I'm reminded, do we have any idea what happened to Hoary and Coultenet?

Hauch dying is probably the best non-fanservice part of the expansion.

All the post-story remarks from the people in Camp Dragonhead really round out his character and his backstory though done before (bastard son with a heart of gold) is no less potent for what it was. But I feel that Hauchefant's story being over was the better move. He's been with you since first going to Coerthas and he did everything he could for you. Taking you in from Ul'Dah, putting his rep in Ishgard on the line and being an all around bro.

A true knight's knight. A full arc. More than could be said about alot of other characters.

Part of me just wish they dropped a bridge on Minfilia and chalk her up as a loss. I have the worst feeling that every Scion is going to come back with a new quirk. Stay tuned for 3.1 where Thancred is in a wheelchair. With new clothes.

Well, she kept changing her clothes randomly, but was mostly gear available to the player.

Yugiri's voice is decent to me. It's better than the vast majority of the Lalafells.

She sounded like a text-to-speech software. Random breaks in her speech and the VA was trying way too hard to give her an accent.

I so wanted Ysayle to join the scions. Also, I wanted a love story with her and Estinian

Alphinaud saying that Ysayle would have been a great Scion reminded me of Justin Bieber saying Anne Frank would have been a belieber.

I didn't even care Moenbryda got ganked because her whole purpose was to bring the macguffin to kill Ascians. Not everyone needs to have major amounts of screentime and development but....

Ysayle had an entire patch dedicated to her + billing in Heavensward. Her being able to use primal powers made her unique. Estinien being a super DRG trying to control Nidhogg powers was unique. Both use powers that are 'bad' to do 'good'. But naw, this is too interesting, better get back to our stock team of uninteresting dolts.

Who knows though. Only Shtola came back and she has super powers now. I mean, I hope they don't all get a gimmick. But they've done very well in 3.0 so far imo, and the scions aren't completely irredeemable (except maybe minfilia lol).

Minfilia's rack is the only redeeming quality she needs. A new (better) VA would be icing.

Although personally, Papalymo is the most irritating to me by a wide margin. Completely useless and condescending to boot.

Papalymo/Yda antics are my favorite. I never really got the Y'Shtola love, but the makeover she got in 3.0 definitely made her seem more interesting for whatever reason. Being hot now, I guess. Green eyes and sackcloth just isn't my thing.

I liked Tataru's new VA. Raubahn/Ilberd as well. Good since Raubahn was among the worst in 2.0.

Lolorito's VAs over the top but fitting for the lord of capitalism.
