Wouldn't make too much sense since Tiamat specifically said they wanted to stay imprisoned. Nid could always go up and steal her eyes though. That would be pretty fucked up, but help us build up to a bigger Nidhogg extreme eventually.
I'd rather see Tiamat reunite with her father and remaining not-evil brother for something resembling a happy ending for the remaining high dragons.
It's probably not going to happen, but still, poor Tiamat.
Aren't there still 2 of Midgardsormr's sons that we haven't seen yet?
Seen in concept art but not named. It should be pointed out we can only positively identify Midgardsormr, Tiamat, Nidhogg and Hraesvelgr in the art.
We know of Bahamut, Tiamat, Nidhogg, Hraesvelgr, and Ratatoskr. So yeah, there's two missing names.
I really don't see Tiamat turning against us anytime soon, Nidhogg or not. She is responsible for summoning Bahamut and all that followed after all... if anything she'd help us out against the Ascians.
I'd imagine trying to motivate her to make up for summoning Bahamut back as a primal by putting an end to the Dragonsong War with some very visible aid might be how they play it. If not for us/her father/siblings/the dragonkin/Meracydia, then revenge.
Especially since they still owe us that acknowledgement for defeating Bahamut's Prime form and putting the Meracydians confined aboard Dalamud to rest, it'd be an awful shame to just leave her up there in those fucking neurolinks being all depressed and lonely.
Well... at some point they have to. I'm sure Bahamut will show up again in some form and there's alsoSpoiler: show
Why would Baha have to show up again.
We shut him down, the coils are disabled.
They'd either have to have someone reactivate them again (which they won't do because then you involve the coil story of us deactivating them) or have him be summoned the old fashion way by a group of followers.
Because it's Bahamut, the most iconic summon in the FF series. He's also heavily involved in the SMN storyline and I'm assuming we're gonna get more skills to use under Trance when the cap increases.
He will come back, maybe in a different form (Neo Bahamut/ Bahamut Zero).
They never have to acknowledge the Coil storyline because canonically only like Alphinaud and Alisaie know anything that went down and promised not to tell. A small aside line with Alisaie/Alphinaud acknowledging our T13 clear is the most you can expect and wouldn't be a surprising nod to the players.
Bahamut appearing again in some form isn't an unreasonable assumption. He's one of Midgardsormr's children and is a huge part of the storyline at large and the effects of Bahamut's summoning are still profoundly felt in Eorzea.
Based on end of 2.0 main story, if people havent done anything else, you can believe bahamut was gone after terraflare attack with some minor plotholes.
When se released t11cs, not knowing anything else about coil, that would lead you to believe hes perma gone from that scene.
Only vague place would be if still in middle of coil quests.
As to the smn 50+ questline, Bahamut has no direct involvement in smn quest. His being dead or currently alive doesnt have any bearing on that plot.

The first Summoner quest teases you with the prospect of summoning Ramuh-Egi. Then you run around and chase Tristan's brother reanimated by an Ascian. Then at the penultimate quest Y'mhitra discovers an alternative to Egis (the "trance" summoning). Bahamut plays little role in the Summoner questline at all. He's just a conveniently power Primal to channel with our newfound Trance abilities. I don't even remember why Y'mhitra chooses Bahamut for us to emulate. But it's absolutely not true that the SMN storyline does anything to expand on Bahamut's story. At all. The 3.0 MSQ has more Bahamut relevant lore than SMN 3.0's story.
EDIT: I looked up the dialogue from the SMN quests and again, Bahamut isn't even mentioned until lv58. And he's chosen by Y'mhitra for us to use for "trance" because he was more powerful than any other Primal we faced--she believes we need the power of an Elder Primal to kill the Ascian and a lesser one won't do.
