    Workout Music?

My ma asked me to put together some workout music for her. I enjoy music, but I'm not the biggest music buff in the world, so my scope is rather limited. I'd really appreciate some assistance here. Post what you like to listen to while you work out, or what you think might be a good fit. I'm open to everything, as is she. The focus of the workouts are cardio, if that helps put a perspective on things.

    Thank ya.

I don't have much to add in regards to actual songs, but I would think something that can help set the pace of movement would be good.

Nearly an hour and a half of ~140bpm progressive house. Fantastic for cardio.

Find some podcasts that update regularly about something she is interested in (and set it up so they load to her ipod automatically if she isn't too tech savy).
I have a few I really like, and I ONLY listen while working out, it gives me an extra incentive to go.

Great thread idea... hopefully people contribute! I'm about burned out on the following...

Can't go wrong with Green Day's "american idiot" album. It's great for workouts. Also:

Tool - Aenima, Lateralus, 10,000 days
    Metallica - Black
    Amon Amarth - Surtur Rising
Green Day - 21st Century Breakdown
Muse - whatever that 1st album is called

I like Pandora. It's algorithms are pretty good. I have a few stations I listen to, and I think they'd work well enough for exercise. I have a John Williams station (Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Jurassic Park... and Pandora moves it into a bunch of other movie/video game music from there), the default 80s Pop station, which has a lot of the more famous/good music from the 80s, a Smooth Criminal station, which has actually never played Smooth Criminal, and focuses on a mix of "modern" instruments and "classic" instruments, similar to the Trans-Siberian Orchestra's sound. Lots of covers of classic songs, etc. I also have a Loreena McKennit station, which is mostly classical, and, to be honest, the least used of them all. I like some energy in my music, and a lot of the classical stuff is too mellow for me.

I think the Smooth Criminal station would work best for exercise, followed by the 80s Pop.

Pretty much this, or things that sound similar. Pantera (technically 90s), Metallica's older stuff (really not that big of a fan of the Black album because of how much it was on radio and got burnt out on it), Trivium (newer but have kind of a hair metal vibe, I recommend the Shogun album), some AC/DC is in there too.
