I actually agree with the general concept behind Zionism- that Jews need a nation to call their own, to prevent another Jewish Holocaust, among other things- but it's been so poorly executed it's hard for me to say I agree with it in practice.

They keep on doing mass murder. UN begs them to stop mass murder. They keep on doing mass murder. UN offers to make them officially a nation of Israel if they stop committing mass murder. Zionists take the deal and do more mass murder. And that's how Israel was formed.

There are alot more details to fill in but that's the general gist for you and none of them are particularly flattering to Zionism anyway.

If no one needs a nation to call their own, then let's just abolish nations altogether. Why not? No one needs them. We should lead by example and abolish the Constitution, then dissolve our armed forces.

Every other large religion has at least one nation in which it is not the minority, or at the very least, an approximate equal to the majority. There's probably exceptions (there usually are) but given the intense persecution faced by Jews in the past (Beyond even the Holocaust), it makes sense to try to ensure such a thing never happens again. Particularly since antisemitism is so widespread among even Western nations. It's not a matter of segregation, as you seem to be implying. It's a matter of being able to stand up for yourself. No Western nation is going to allow Jews (or anyone else) to form armed militias in their countries, and even if they did, such militias could not easily project their strength to protect their fellows around the world. A nation overcomes both of those obstacles.

In concept, it's a wonderful idea. It was executed so poorly that in practice it's not. Parts of North America (Dakotas, as mentioned, or parts of Canada- all sparsely populated) would have been far better choices, imo, but they lacked the "Omg holy land!" allure.

As for the increasing antisemitism in European nations? I vaguely remember that actually being true. It was mostly because Israel did such a good job of trying to conflate hate for Israel as hate against Jews that people in Spain started coming to the conclusion that Jews were evil people who wanted to murder innocent people for having the wrong race/religion. Not everyone is intelligent enough to be able to separate the two and as such Israel's actions are actually a growing source of antisemitism.
