I think this comment from that site gives a good perspective of things.

In the Crescent Moon corner, weighing in at 145lbs soaking wet: People who are indoctrinated from birth to believe that their neighbours aren't human beings and that it is the will of their fictional, non-existant God that they be wiped out at all costs.

In the Menorah corner, weighing in at 160lbs: People who are indoctrinated from birth to believe that they and they alone are their fictional, non-existant God's chosen people, superior to all others and have a right to any bit of land their soldiers trample on, regardless of whether other people have been living there since even before it became a part of the Roman Empire.

For the love of ALL the fictional, non-existant Gods (they all are) can we not terraform Mars and ship all these fuckers over there so they can go at each other on another planet instead of this one that we all have to live on?

At a wedding observing the missile defense at work.

Are you referring to his non-solution, or his amusing injection of his beliefs into an unrelated topic?

    Because

gets the same point across without sounding like a preachy, arrogant ass. At least not to nearly the same degree, anyway. Unless you look at the point itself, that is. I'm not sure what to make of that, aside from wishing we had the technology, even if not to use it that way.

Edit: Also, it must be tough to have an Estes Rocketry hobby in that area. "Look daddy! My rocket is going so hi-awwww"

It's like everyone forgot that Jewish, Christian, and Islamic peoples got along just fine for centuries before Zionism. Even during the crusades they generally got along since they were united in defending themselves from those retarded Europeans via coalition army. They even let the christian people in Jerusalem just exit the area so that they wouldn't have to fight their retarded cousins while the Muslim and Jewish people stayed to fight.

You mean like as has been happened for at least the last 60 years? You're already looking at what's happening. Now if you mean outright destroying Jerusalem that's another story.

Dimm, just because you were raised by jewish people, doesn't mean you have to act like you're a right-wing settler. Many jewish people in the US don't even agree with what Israel does nor do they feel they owe any allegiance to that state, you know.

Egypt has backed Gaza's side on the conflict, while Germany and England accuse Hamas of starting the recent fighting. A Hamas rocket hit a building in Tel Aviv which is the first time that city is hit since 1991. Recent reports from Hamas claim that one of their rockets hit Jerusalem, but Israeli forces claim the rocket fell outside of the city.

President Mohammed Mursi said he would not leave Gaza on its own and condemned Israel's "blatant aggression", hours after his prime minister visited Gaza.
"Egypt will not leave Gaza on its own, and what is happening is a blatant aggression against humanity," the president said shortly after Mr Qandil returned from Gaza.

Ties between Hamas and Egypt have strengthened since Mr Mursi's election earlier this year.

Hamas was formed as an offshoot of the Muslim Brotherhood, to which Mr Mursi belongs
    .
Meanwhile, the Israeli city of Tel Aviv, some 75km (45 miles) north of Gaza, came under attack for a second day.

A missile launched from Gaza sparked panic in the city and air-raid sirens once again sounded.

The missile appears to have done no harm, with police officials quoted variously as saying it had landed in the sea or in an unpopulated area.

It is the first time Tel Aviv has come under attack since the 1991 Gulf War.

Analysts say it is the first time Gaza militants have deployed such powerful missiles.
Western leaders have appealed for both sides to stop the escalation in violence.

Britain and Germany both said Hamas bears the brunt of the blame and should stop firing rockets immediately.

Hamas militants in the Gaza Strip say they have launched a rocket on Jerusalem - the first time the holy city has been targeted from Gaza.

Israel Army radio said the missile landed just outside the city - and there are no reported casualties. An earlier missile targeted Tel Aviv.

I'm worried. If israeli leaders were batshit crazy before about palestinians being a threat to Israel, i wonder just how much that anxiety will increase with the prospect that rockets from Gaza can now reach as far as Tel Aviv and Jerusalem.

Does this mean Egypt just violated it's peace treaty with Israel? Sounds like it to me.

It should be noted that before this latest round of violence started up, Israel was making threats because the Palestinians were scheduled to request an upgraded status in the General Assembly in november 29.

A position paper by Israel's foreign ministry proposes "toppling" President Mahmoud Abbas if Palestine's bid for UN non-member state status is approved.

The internal document says it is "the only option" if deterrence efforts do not succeed, despite the consequences.

It also suggests that the Palestinians should be offered immediate recognition of statehood within provisional borders as an incentive to drop their UN bid.

Mr Abbas plans to submit a request to the UN General Assembly on 29 November.
However, Mr Lieberman was quoted last week by Israeli Channel 10 TV as saying he would ensure that the Palestinian Authority "collapses" if its unilateral UN bid went ahead.

He has also in the past described Mr Abbas, who is also known as Abu Mazen, as an "obstacle that needs to be removed".

The position paper states that the "main goal of the State of Israel" is to deter the Palestinians from unilaterally seeking non-member observer state status at the UN, which should be seen as "crossing a red line that will require the harshest Israeli response".

"If deterrence efforts do not succeed, Israel must extract a heavy price from Abu Mazen," it says.

The reality of a Palestinian state recognised by the UN is a "unilateral step that will crush Israeli deterrence, completely undermine its credibility and make any future peace deal that could be acceptable to Israel impossible", it adds.
Israeli foreign ministry spokesman Lior Ben Dor told the BBC that if President Abbas continued to pursue the UN bid, he would be in breach of the 1993 Oslo peace accords, under which the Palestinian Authority was established.

He said Israel was concerned that if Palestine became a UN non-member state, it could ask the International Criminal Court (ICC) to resolve disputes with Israel.

Abu Mazen seems like a smart dude, I hope he's making these attempts from bunkers.

He's from the West Bank, so i don't think Israel is going to attack him. It's a conspiracy theory, to say the least, that Israel wanted this conflict (aside from coming elections) because they want to stick a wrench in the plans for the UN this month. I just think it's convenient that this breaks out two weeks away from the vote. It could just be a coincidence too.

Israel can take care of itself (even if the Egyptians get involved, which there is very little likelihood of them doing) and we would never intervene on the side of the Palestinians

i do wonder how this affects the planned strike on Iran's nuclear facilities though

Mmm, when people make claims like that in the US about the US, it seems conspiracy nut-ish...but with Israel, they very often use world events to mask their atrocities, or use atrocities to mask Israeli events.

It wouldn't be unexpected, especially given the circumstances.

Did the guy die or just lose his internet connection? Either way, that's probably the most poignant way to explain the bullshit that Israel is doing. "Wah wah, I'm so scared of shitty little rockets that harm practically no one." Meanwhile in Gaza, bombs are exploding every 25 seconds.

At the very last second of the clip they say he's alive but there clearly was a delay so it was probably tacked on a fairly decent chunk of time later. Bombs actually start hitting all around the guy halfway through but he doesn't stop trying to enter the debate.(plus now that I think of it it's not like there's anywhere he can run to)
