    Podcasts

Hey, sorry to make a new thread but I don't know where else to post this shit.

I'm just wondering what podcasts you guys would recommend listening to? I'm going to start a career in trucking and thus I am going to have a lot of time to listen to shit.
I don't have enough music to listen to to not get tired of hearing it over and over so a podcast and/or radio show seems like a good idea.

I'm generally interested in technology, games, politics, and crude humor.

    Thanks >.>'

With that app can I download the podcasts while at home on Wifi so I don't have to burn 4g data streaming them? I assume I can but I thought I'd ask.

I sorta just started listening podcasts myself and wouldn't mind recommendations either. I've become a fan of Roosterteeth (once a week).

Always an entertaining listen if you like cartoon voice over actors http://robpaulsenlive.com/category/podcasts/ . The one with John Dimaggio is amazing. Also this one http://www.nerdist.com/category/podcast/ tons of people ranging from Neil Degrasse Tyson, to Bill Nye, and even the guys from Epic Mealtime. A fantastic podcast

Has a lot of crude humor. Although most of the topics deal with Hollywood and the news they talked about in older episodes are out of date, it's still good to listen and highly recommended.

Thirding babble on. Listen to it on the drive between Dallas <-> Tyler every weekend, fills a good 2 hours regularly.

The main one I listen to is the Nerdist!
They have a few different ones available, but I'm just listening to the main one only at the moment.

I also listen to the Yogpod, though it's not updated nearly as often as the YouTube channels are.

These two were local radio shows that went to podcast after the DC talk radio market went to shit. You can stream on their site, or get stuff from itunes, etc... Basically guys sitting around shooting the shit:
    -The Mike O'meara Show - www.mikeomearashow.com
    -Big O & Dukes - www.bigoanddukes.com

    Other:
-Nerdist - www.nerdist.com - Wide range of nerd culture stuff
-Skeptics Guide to the Universe - www.theskepticsguide.org - If you like a wide range of science and making fun of holistic medicine
-Star Talk Radio w/ Neil de Grasse Tyson - www.startalkradio.net - Regardless of if you like science, NGT is great at simplifying complex topics and blowing your mind.
-Hollywood Babble-On - Ralph is fucking awesome and hysterical, but most of the time I wish Kevin Smith would shut up. So much better when Jon Lovitz co-hosts.

This American Life - Updated Weekly. Politics/Science/Education/General NPR News stuff. Very well done, though. Generally regarded as one of the best podcasts out there.

Radiolab - Updated NEVER (GD you Radiolab, they update but not regularly). Science stuff, incredibly fascinating, has been around long enough to have a ton of episodes you can peruse through.

My Brother My Brother and Me - Updated weekly. Crude humor. 3 brothers who do an "advice" show. They take Yahoo answers and give fake/real advice. Sounds dumb, but it's quite hilarious. They have a ton of episodes too, plenty to keep me entertained.

It's all I listen to and it's all I need.

I generally listen to Breakfast with Tom and Alex, a aussie breakfast show, they usually have guest stars everyday, and I think would fall under your "crude humor"

    Definitely check 'em out

    Re: Podcasts

Lack of TWiT network is disapoint. Twit.tv Its almost like if techtv were still alive and not bought and everyone with talent fired.
    Giant bombcast - www.giantbomb.com/podcast
Its the weekly podcast put out by he games press website Giant Bomb it features industry die hards like Jeff Gurstmann and Brad Shoemaker.

    Invisible Walls - www.gametrailers.com/shows/invisible-walls
Game Trailers gaming show mostly about games that come out this week and what might be coming out soon.

    Weekly Manga Recap - thatguywiththeglasses.com/podcast/weekly-manga-recap

Not the best show but they usually do a quick review of a manga series each week as well as the big manga chapters each week ie. One Piece, Narato, Bleach. It can be hit or miss but they generally do a good job.

    Games for windows - itunes

Games for windows podcast is the now defunct pod cast the 1up had going to support games for windows magazine. They might be a little dated but most are still really funny and will introduce you to more of the background of PC gaming.

And its not really a podcast but thatguywiththeglasses.com has a ton of videos if you don't visit it you should be.

anyone who's ever cared about talk radio should give these a listen. Radio guys care about audio quality and you hear it in their shows. Mike's show would be the easiest of the two to get into and they do a show 5 times a week!

To couple with this (since I honestly don't enjoy his podcast as much as the old radio TACS), you can also hit up archives of Loveline from the Carolla years. They're getting harder to track down as Westwood One tries to pull them down from time to time, but Phil's archive is still up and is pretty extensive. Starting somewhere in the early-mid 2000's is probably your best bet. Any episode with an attractive girl as a guest will be sure to fill your need for 90 minutes of crude humor.

The best podcast I have ever heard.

I'd also recommend some of the shows on here: http://andbetter.org/
Some are good, others are kind of hit and miss but overall it's a good mix.
