Good luck to everyone.
The more BG testers (white knights and all!), the better.

fuck the haters pre 1.19 was the best FF game EVA
Word, I wanna see Kaeko vids of him THM soloing CC/AV like he did with BLM and salvage back in the day.
I can only imagine the treasure trove of testing to be done once 2.0 gets more finalized now that you mention Kaeko.
Gotta love testings!
Don't even know if Kaeko still follows XIV tbh, I certainly hope so because god knows his tests have always been invaluable.
Also if he does them I don't have to... -_-
Think he's busy with (med?) school now.
If I get a code.. would I be able to let, for example, someone on here use it? I don't have the time right now to invest in playing XIV with work, etc. Was hoping I could let someone use beta time if they could actually be productive and use it.
or are the beta emails just for those accounts, etc?
You don't get a code. They enable your account for testing.
Good luck... we are all counting on you...
I honestly felt that, if the UI and server lag weren't such utter garbage, the stamina gauge, manual attacks, and freeform classes could have had potential if they weren't scrapped. I mean, it wasn't really that fun in its current form but that's what updates should be fixing.
Consider Sentinel and Rampart. I believe in the old stamina system these costed like 1/3 of a bar apiece but Rampart was complete trash since it only lasted a few seconds. Jump forward to current stats and Sentinel is short-term, high damage resist, long timer and Rampart is vice-versa (simplified example). With stamina, you can do more interesting things than just "longer cooldown", imo. Such as:
Sentinel - No stamina cost, same recast it has now. "Oh shit" button potential
Rampart - Small stamina cost (like a basic attack) and either recast is reduced or effect lasts longer
No point in whining further though :/ Seems we're on the track to "standard modern-day MMORPG". For better or worse. Hopefully better.
lol you guys are funny
I mean, it was silly tanking Great Buffalo on Archer. But I did it. That was the most fun I ever had with this game.
Ahh the days of Dodore and GB THM soloing
I miss that broken ass game. I bought +2/3s and shit just to be baller and have an easier time tanking stuff for people on what was supposed to be a mage class.
I can honestly say the most fun I had was either soloing Hotbox Goblinguy or tanking BD raptor parties. Emulate/Contagion4lyf. Nothing funnier than seeing GB run around under his own hate reset status.
edit for nostalgia bomb:
Spoiler: show
I don't miss that game one bit. Bring on the better version.
I was referring specifically to the stamina bar concept, manual attacking. The class system was just bad in general. I felt it could have been worked with, but the job system should have replaced it, not be build over the top of it. Hard to explain how I feel really. I can't hardly recall now anyway.
Ah well I'd have to agree then. The stamina bar system was probably the only thing I enjoyed about 1.0 at the beginning. It was an interesting mechanic for an MMO. Manual attacking certainly could have been better. As for the job system I too wish they'd of scrapped it, but we'll just have to see what Yoshida decides to do with it in the future. However, I hope it doesn't come back to bite the game in the ass in the future.
I like the original concept of classes (but the execution, like many other things, sucked). I like the traditional concept of jobs (but laying it over classes sucks/is awkward).
I like Stamina because I think there can be better ways to design around an ability set than just MP/TP and cooldowns. Adding a third dimension (stamina) opens some possibilities. It's just another resource to manage. Like ammo. Copypasting from an edit I made earlier:
And this is just a crappy example with 2 similar abilities. You could even keep auto-attack and have stamina be solely for skills.
