I would only agree with this if he brought up FFXI out of no where. He responded to an opinion on FFXI with his own opinion on FFXI. At least he's consistent and doesn't back-peddle on every point. There is nothing particularly good about it and anything that attempts to shine up that turd must be burned, lest it infect this game which now shows a shred of potential." Maybe he'll stop banging on about it when people stop going on about how much fun they had in FFXI. Before anyone says it, yes there is such a thing as a wrong opinion.

XI's still there, though, if you want that "glory" back. As 2.0 is going to be very different from XI, I dunno if you'd be getting any kind of glory from it.

That was kind of my point, though. I never felt like there was a real grind as the 'grind' felt meaningful. I rarely did HNM but I did do sky/sea and I helped several friends/lsmates to get access etc. Those things were aggravating at times but I never felt like they were meaningless; most were fun, actually. I understand what you're saying, though.

A grind doesn't have to be meaningless to be a grind, but again, you were having fun, so it worked out for you. There's going to be heaps of grind in 2.0, though, just like every other MMO out there.

I just want the alpha over so we can get to the real meat of the testing. That and I know that I'm guaranteed a slot in beta instead of the "pray to get lucky" deal here.
