I lost all hope of an invite when they sent an e-mail out to all EU players seeking new signups. Clearly they'd realised the remaining EU players aren't what they're looking for otherwise they wouldn't have bothered when there was only a few more batches to go out. Most likely I tripped up by answering how I don't have other MMO experience apart from XI and how I actually played XIV V1. Definitely going to lie my ass off on the beta form.

Well I was under the impression the alpha was about testing before anything else. I wish there was a better way of picking testers. I've spent most of the past week testing new software as it's an important part of my job, I think I'm qualified enough for that. Getting opinions from people who have played lots of MMOs or hated XIV V1 is important too but that should be separate to "testing". A lot of initial feedback can be gathered from videos too.

Btw I actually did give WoW a try once back when they had a 2 week trial. I lasted all of 2 hours on my naked level 1 before some dude PvPed me to death in one hit. I decided it wasn't for me. Not saying the game sucks but I'm not a fan of open PvP, for exactly that reason.

You had to of started it, meaning, you hit him first in order for him to hit you in the early zones! So my question, why would you attack someone so much higher level than you if you hate "open PvP"?

Also, everyone that still has not got into Alpha, have you guys checked your SE accounts to see if Alpha is listed under services? Have you attempted to log into the Alpha forums? Myself and my friend both did not receive the email (both using yahoo accounts, checked spam as well) but both have received access. Worth a shot.
