I don't think there's a date yet. I'd bet that beta will still be under NDA at the beginning.
I wouldn't be surprised if it stayed under NDA until open beta. I think V1 stayed under NDA until open beta, though it really should have stayed under NDA until it shut down.
Someone Complained yesterday for about 30 mins in /sh that they need to bring ammo back.. =[ And the Alpha forums.. ugh.
Typically most beta's I've been in, is under NDA until the later part of beta, if not in open beta, as they usually don't want bad press having leaked info about some soorta "issue" they may have in a said beta. Like for instance they added some graphic setting that on some systems made a character/npc's face disappear and you only see teeth/eyeballs floating around, that kind of thing would spread pretty quickly.![]()
At least we can stop crying after checking our e-mails and then coming here to whine about it every other day now.![]()
I want ammo but different type
Like fire Arrows or stuff like that (just unlimited)![]()
don't need ammo for that. just have a toggle ability that imbues all auto-attacks with X element and have it do a little sparkly rotation animation around the box on the action bar so you clearly know it is on. make it consume an item or utilize mp if it's a mage job.
Can we talk about Alpha here yet :/?
It's pretty but fairly boring, but then it's just an alpha. Not much else worth saying really.
It's had a lot of positive response response from what I remember. I thought people were quite surprised for the amount of content that the alpha had?
yep, just the sheer number of quests out there already
I don't know for sure if alpha has a ton of content honestly, but I'm not sure how they plan for people to level in launch. You get to a point where you need to grind or party up with people to get levels since there's nothing else to do. I can see with Ul'dah and Limsa Lominsa quests being put in though that you wouldn't have any trouble at that point.
Hmm... I thought there seems to be a good amount of content in the alpha. I mean, I dunno, how much content should be expected in an alpha test? Is there like, some sort of median of accept content for that sort of thing? I'm honestly just not really sure.
There's also the beta to look forward to at least if you weren't satisfied! There's supposed to be quite a bit more to do during that time I believe.
If people are bitching about lack of content in an alpha, then I think they're being stupid. If this was open beta and they plan on launching next month, then there's cause for complaint.
