How many relics do you have in XIV? 1-shot Ifrit X and Darnus(Hard) pretty much every time, cold and out of the blue?

What rank are you in DOTA2/LoL?

What level Fractal are you running in GW2? Zombie raising pugs like it's AC?

Frankly, any game where I have time to both type something out AND read what's being typed is too easy and the games where that's the case are pretty much just XI. In fact, the game is very focused on the chat log itself as if they DEVs knew their game was shit and it would be nothing more than a pretty instant messenger.

The more complex the game, the more voip helps. Not using it for any other reason just means you lack confidence in social situations. People get more of a feeling for who you are when you talk, they can hear tones and inflections and that just isn't good enough for internet anonymity.

That much is fine, but I've always had a better time over vent than over text.

Never got the voice thing. I'm very outgoing and love meeting people at bars and generally enjoying shenanigans with strangers, but sitting at my computer with a headset on doesn't exactly scream social to me. If I'm playing a computer game, I'd rather be watching TV as well, not listening to someone awkwardly talk about DPS and AOE.

That said, I'll do it for a little just to get a strat down. But then? Please shut up, internet man. I don't like anime, I don't read reddit or 4chan, I don't want to converse with you. (Generally speaking)

I like to listen to music when playing, and voice chat lowering the volume of the music every 3 seconds is annoying as shit. If you don't have it lower, then you can't hear what that one quiet guy on the vent is saying or the other guy with the shitty mic. Also the clusterfuck of sound while listening to music and people talk over it just gives me a headache. I don't mind using vent or what not while playing when needed, just saying for some it can be a pain in the ass when you are trying to relax.

Then for some it breaks the immersion of being in a fantasy world when you hear your fellow adventurers talking about how they went to Hardee's earlier, or how working at Wal-Mart is shitty. For me the immersion break doesn't really matter, but I can see it being a problem for those who like to escape from reality.

Uhhh...I wasn't trying to sound more intelligent, I would've italicized were that the case. I was just trying to emphasize those words. Did you get it? Anyway, no one said it was weird: I was just expressing why someone wouldn't be down with it. Odd how the people that are most sensitive about being called asocial shut-ins because of what they do are so judgmental of someone that wouldn't enjoy talking on mic?
