yeah i'm not exactly sold on it being real either, what with the rumours of XI VITA forever & everPSVita has to be a mistranslation or a troll attempt.

This looks like really good info. And fuck yes I don't have to worry about getting invited into Beta.![]()

ps: it's the roadmap
Looks like April/May release? Or June idfk that's "earliest"
Interesting that they're carrying the beta p4 characters over, probably a good thing if it's essentially the finished product.
Hope I get in!
Then you erase macros that you haven't used in a year or for obsolete content? ARR macros are a lot more efficient than V1 macros, you aren't going to need 6 macros just to change job+gear. Simply text one liners aren't exactly difficult to alter either. Even better if you could comment out specific lines so that you aren't wasting a macro slot for just one line of text.
Anyway it looks like we have more interesting things to discuss now as I just got tweeted a link to the new road map.
"All legacy status holders qualify as testers in [beta] phase 1."
F.A.T.E. will be in phase 1. So will markets and item search.
Edit: their range of total time for the beta is between 8 weeks and 18 weeks.
Man. Got a newegg gift card in my email today and knowledge that I'm an automatic in for BETA.
Tis a good day.

Best Christmas present so far this year.
I'm starting to like that I never got into alpha, everything will be fresh in beta and it will be an overall better experience. Surprised that they are opening so many servers for testing.
Looking at the dates it seems a release at the end of June is most likely. I'm not expecting the phases to be on the short end of the given predictions, that never happens in development.
Pretty psyched phase 4 char data will be carried over. Hopefully no "circumstances necessitate" character data deletion.
Did I say voice is not generally superior to text? No, I did not.
You said that, "There is no way, in any conceivable instance, where typing something out in a raid/dungeon environment is more efficient than typing it." There are actually quite a few conceivable instances where it is more efficient. There are things that are simply more efficiently handled in the chat log, particularly if you have people that sound similar or 2-3 sub-groups of people with different responsibilities. Again, crosstalk is much more easily filtered (both literally and figuratively) over text than voice.
You're trying to make this into a binary decision between talk OR text, when the correct answer is both, as necessary.
Wow, shut up about the VoIP already.

So happy! Intrigued about fall damage testing too
And cmon gulk.. the Roe looks sexy too, if I can get one without a man-face I'd totally roll thatKeep the world more diverse and such.
Looks like June 1st would be the latest for that schedule. Not sure if they would ship out and do a day 1 patch, or if they'd have to address all feedback before making discs etc, that would be a huge difference in timing.
if you count the weeks by its lowest parameters its Mid-April..
if you go by the highest, its the start of July.
If you factor in expected delays totalling maybe a month.. then you're looking at some time between May and August.
I'd think they're less concerned with who else they're competing with and more with getting their product working well in terms of release dates. It also won't come close to FFXI's SoA anyway.
If they can get open beta out by mid May or early June it'd definitely benefit them since they can bank on the summer holiday crowd to drive up awareness of ARR
Mah beta phase 1 <3
Of course don't mention the possibility of non-"confirmed march release date" on official forums if you don't want to wade through a sea of butthurt. I'm pretty happy that along with the supposed March 27th/28th SoA date SE is spacing major releases between the two MMOs out.
Also giving themselves 1-2 weeks between phases for debugging, at least this time Wada is listening to the one in charge of the project rather than saying "Out by here ready or not" like he did with Tanaka.
