How do you think an AMD 1055t @3.0 and a gtx 480 will stack up?
The only thing that really matters if they can optimize the game to actually run at the potential of those specs. They've never made a PC FF that has been optimized to use the full power of the specs they provide. It won't matter how beefy your rig is if the game isn't optimized well enough to run smoothly and without memory leaks.
Just sucks I built a system about six months ago around an i5 3570k yet that's barely more than mid specs for the game. Definitely not upgrading that but my GPU (which is also mid specs) could use an upgrade next year. I guess it's something we'll have to compare when the benchmark is released.
i have an i5 3570k and a GTX 680. I don't think the game will have any problems running on specs like that whatsoever. I can do the alpha on the highest settings already. I can't imagine it being THAT much better than it looks already.
just got some new stuff myself (i7 3.5ghz, radeon 7870) but have yet to build it.
anyone try the alpha out with specs similar to mine? curious as to how it runs.
Those requirements are confusing. Not sure why you'd need hyperthreading for a video game or windows professional. Should be fine with an i5 at the listed clock and obviously with whatever version of 7/8 you want. Will be interested to see how my PC does
Its possible their going all out on ffxiv, 64bit OS mentioning.. maybe they'll go 64bit like warcraft, did making use of alot more ram to load a lot more stuff on max settings.
This is below mid, so running mid will probably be a struggle.
Then again, those "recommended" settings, are just recommended, probably for a 30FPS range (which seems to be recommended range for most games to be playable)
Also, beta hasen't even started yet, so those recommended's.. may change!
One would assume (and hope) that they'll be optimizing things up until launch, so yeah, definitely room for these things to change
This big girl can handle anything they can throw at her. All I care about is whether SE has learned to optimize non-console games.
I ran the alpha with an i7 980 and a gtx 480 at high settings the entire time. There was only one spot where I had some nasty FPS drop and it had alot of shadowing and lighting going on in the area. It wasn't 60 fps everywhere but never really dipped below 40 either.
480's still a very strong card, it just isn't an efficient one
These specs might not exactly be the "recommended" ones. It's just the machines they used to show the three different modes.
