Winter 2012-13 Anime Season Thread

Everything is predictable in retrospect, but the mysteries were well crafted and executed. The characters were good (I agree Chitanda is the most annoying yet she serves her purpose and is pretty damn cute, but Oreki more than makes up for it) and everything was done right. I'd say it's an acquired taste because it does everything mildly. The comedy, mystery, drama etc are all mild when you think about the stakes at hand so it's harder to get into because it is literally a bunch of kids at school just fucking around.

Sayonara Zetsubo Sensei and Maria+Holic (1st season), Arakawa under Bridge and EF - A Tale of are good shit.

Kyoani generally do good stories, but the moeblob factor is getting out of hand now.

I like KyoAni's show direction. I don't like the overload of moe.

Hyouka was a great show. It wasn't pandering, had a good plot..

Even Chuunibyou was good at the start. They got a little bit out of hand towards the end, but it wasn't bad.

I've also started to feel the repercussions of moe blob. I don't hate it and in some places it works really well.. but they really need to tone that shit down a little bit. Also shaft is the greetest. Also also SAO was good imo, although the ALO arc could have been handled better. I'm hoping for a second season because Phantom Bullet was really entertaining to read and it felt much more well written than the previous two arcs.

Highschool of the Dead Manga to Resume

The wraparound jacket band on the fifth and sixth full-color volumes of Daisuke Satō and Shoji Sato's Highschool of the Dead manga confirmed this week that the manga is resuming. However, it did not specify a timeframe. The manga has been on hiatus since March 2011.
