If you care enough to do so, pick up the Visual Novel for C;H. Honestly was better than the anime for all intents and purposes. Otherwise, I'd suggest watching it. Both Stein's and Chaos are linked in one way or another and it'll come together in R;N.

I can't really think of anything that linked the two together in an important way just from the anime. Actually I can't think of anything in chaos;head that would enhance watching steins;gate. Also while steins;gate is awesome, chaos;head is sadly only super special.

No. Avoid Chaos;Head anime at all costs. Steins;Gate is worth watching but honestly the links to C;H aren't necessary to enjoy the story (having watched and blocked out C;H, I'm still loving R;N). Might just be better to ask on the forum what about C;H relates to R;N.

It's kind of surprising how poor C;H's adaptation turned out. Usually you can count on Madhouse to do better than that.

The only thing you really need to know about C;H for watching Steins;Gate is Irrelvent if you watch the anime. All the nods to C;H were removed from the anime.

My friend mentioned that it's the same director, who has a certain specific way of directing; is using that very same way of directing; and that it's awesome if only because of that. Is the cross over an actual cross over, or is it just metaphorical because of the same director's directing method.

I personally just start saying "blah blah blah blah you still haven't watched past episode 5 of idolmaster blah blah blah blah" whenever he starts talking about it so I don't know anything else about it yet.

No it's not actually a Xover with Macross, lol. 0048 is similar in that it's got fighting idols and the power of song and mechs yada yada. But it is its own story and world and has nothing to do with anything but AKB. Unless I'm missing some crossover characters in the bad guy troupe ;p

0048 is a great show though, people should totally watch it! Though it got me obsessed with AKB when I've never cared about idols so I don't know, it might be dangerous...

Yes, yes, and yes (to an extent). It's certainly not show of the year material, but definitely enjoyable.

I dunno if I should be admitting this, and I dunno if anyone else is watching this series, but Tamako Market has been really entertaining, in a light hearted but energetic way. And episode 9 was fantastic.

People were saying it's like K-On 2.0, but I don't think it's anything like it. Albeit, I've only seen maybe 10 minutes of K-On max before I stopped, but still, TM has been pretty enjoyable. Not Hyouka good, but still good.

Watched the first episode; didn't hate it. Will definitely pick it up after the season is done.

^Interestingly, last night I had a dream about 0048 where Takamina got shot and killed by DES and Makoto succeeded her.

But then I thought "hah, no one will ever get shot or killed in this series".

True story.
