I am loving the UT drama right now. Sports talk radio is so glorious. The Tennessee fans are shocked and amazed that nobody wants to be the coach of their illustrious institution. They've been telling recruits (they being the former staff -Dooley) that there will be a coach in place by the end of the week. Doesn't look like that's going to happen. Not to mention those coaches are still recruiting while at the same time having no clue what their future will hold.

Bielema on m&m this morning, basically boiled down his reasoning to 2 things paraphrasing but his words basically:

First, being in the SEC, you can be a 1 loss team and not even in the conference championship, and with the 4 game playoff you're still going to be very much in the running. Makes perfect sense given recent history, and his background.

but then the one that surprised me was....

He said he's sick of losing quality assistants because he can't pay them like the SEC schools will. Again it makes sense, but it's certainly not a reason I had thought about.

Yeah I think he felt burned that he lost a bunch of assistants after last year - OC Paul Chryst left to HC at Pitt, taking LB coach and OL coach with him, and the WR coach left to be...WR coach at ASU.

yeah, he actually specified that head coaching jobs are 1 thing, but he couldn't deal with losing guys to go do the same job for more money someplace else

He had a weak team in a tough conference. Tommy is legit. Shame we won't be playing Cinci for much longer, if at all again. Cinci should run the conference when UL and Rutgers leave.
