You're reaching because you know how shitty everyone's OOC schedules are when they have to play tough conference games. This should all be eliminated by a playoff system where 1 loss won't kill your chances (in theory) and people start scheduling games that fans want to see instead of Woffard. Our schedule for this upcoming year is pretty weak because we end up avoiding the tough east teams, so I'm hoping they schedule a big OOC game in the spot we have left. I love when we play big games OOC...but you and I both know that it's not in any teams best interest to do so with the current system.

Yeah, Saban's been solid with scheduling early season opponents. Since his second season in Tuscaloosa it's been Clemson, VaTech, Penn State twice, and Michigan, and he's got VaTech again next season. He also threw in Duke for good measure, who is better than a Sun Belt cupcake I suppose. Once his SEC schedule starts, he's pretty liberal with Sun Belt/FCS fodder.

I know K-State is losing the Kleinsman, but OOC they face North Dakota State, UL-Lafayette, and UMass next season. Holy schnikeys.

And I agree with noble, once we're to the playoff system hopefully it opens up scheduling tougher games OOC.

I love that Saban does it, although I wish he would get some good home/home series going. I'd love to see some big name OOC games at home. There were talks about doing a home/home with USC a few years ago, but Kiffin to USC killed it. You keep acting like it's an SEC thing to schedule shitty OOC games when every single conference does it, except the teams that suck and need the money from bigger schools. Let's not act like the Big 12 was a murderers row this year. It seemed like every conference was down a bit this year.

I think it was proposed but never agreed upon. Bama has VaTech next season, West Virginia in 2014, and a home-and-home with Michigan State in 2016-17. I think the hiccup was Wisconsin wanted a home-and-home and Bama balked, so the 2015 JerruhBowl looks likely.

LSU v. Oregon in Jerrah World was easily one of the best games I have ever been to. Atmosphere was crazy, felt like a big bowl game.

Not sure how strong TCU is supposed to be next year but we open with them in Arlington next year.

Our 7-5, 4-5 conference, 5th place team beat the living hell out of the Pac-10's best non-bcs team.

Our top 2 teams were outclassed and lost.

Our bottom 3 teams got games over their heads and lost.

Our mid tier teams beat the ever loving shit out of some pretty solid teams.

Point being, handling our Texas, Baylor, Tech, Oklahoma State was just as rough as handling the SEC's Georgia, SC, Florida, Miss State, etc... except everybody had to play all of them, so they didn't end up with just 2-3 losses. And then instead of your Tennessee, Vandy, etc., we still had Geno and nasty TCU/ISU defense to deal with.

FTFY. Oregon State was better than UCLA. Same conference record, yes, but, you know, head to head win at their place, more difficult conference schedule, didn't get blown out by Cal, competitive bowl game against a better opponent, etc, etc. The third place teams (Texas and Oregon State) looked like pretty comparable teams, Mike Riley's just a shitty coach at times.

We have a ton of turnover on defense. Plenty of talent/hype, but nothing proved yet so I don't know what to expect.

Pretty much. The oline was easily our biggest weakness this past season, with the bad QB play resulting partially from that.

I pretty much flipped on Les after the Clemson game. I use to be in the "it could be MUCH worse" camp, but what's the fucking point if you can't trust your coach not to do something retarded in big moments. Most of the players respect his knowledge of the game but think his antics are a joke and don't really take him seriously. Being a top 5 program in the country for this long and still not being able to find or develop even an above average QB is pathetic. There are two hyped recruits coming in but can't say I'm optimistic based on the past.
