I believe his friends want controversial people invited by other presidents. Mentioning Common is just gonna give the guy a sense of "SEE I TOLD YOU" shit.

Bush had multiple sports championship teams that are full of black people, that's pretty controversial.

yeah, i'm done with that. The whole time he's been downright hostile, like I'm attacking him personally, when all I've said is essentially "It's not that bad."

I have a whole post written up about how his attitude is why no one likes to talk about politics anymore, but for the sake of the friendship I'm just going to tell him to stop being a dick and leave it at that.
