Dark Souls 2 (PC/PS4/XB1/PS3/360)

I'm pleased so far, not as worried as before

Dark Souls 2 very well may be the rare game I buy at launch, but so far I don't feel like it's anything more than "more Dark Souls".

I'm not complaining. Great game, and I'd love to play more. But from what they've shown so far I don't feel like they are taking it in any new or interesting directions. It's a little prettier, has a little more environmental interactions but to be honest that doesn't wow me to any great extent. As another posted before me, some of what they showed seems a little gimmicky... you need to know a trick to avoid insta-death... if you don't do it you are toast but if you do there's no sense of real danger.

I'm not complaining. There's a good chance this is a day one purchase for me, but I'm not sure it's going to stand heads above what DS1 was.

My main complaint so far is the fuckin' weapon movesets and combat pace.
I don't know if I like everything changing as much as it looks like it will.

This should come as good news to PC fans of the franchise disappointed by the lackluster port of the first game. That release sold "over 300,000 downloads on PC," according to Namco Bandai VP Carlson Choi. Figures like those likely made it incredibly easy for Namco to consider
