lol i've died 5 times so far just trying to kill that first big thing outside the first cabin with the old ladies. Not going to move on until I manage to kill it lol
Dodge mechanic change still throwing me off and the thing's reach seems to always catch me off guard.

Is anybody else having trouble with the movement? It feels like instead of a 360 degrees analog control that there's more of a 16-way digital control. I'd normally just deal, but running jumps are pretty stupid with it.

Oh shit, so the rolling is more akin to MH where you get x number of invisibility frames (depends on the armour) on startup? If that's the case, then that's cool. Besides the laughable lagfest that was DkS' PvP, I always hated the roll spammage. I don't remember it to be that severe in DS tbqh. I just want to dual wield Moon Uchigatanas again (blocking is for pussies).

And does anyone know how to use a torch? I picked one up but don't see it anywhere in my inventory, though it shows what I assume means I have 5 min with it on my equip screen. I'm just not sure how to take it out

and yeah, I'm having a real difficulty with jumping. In the tutorial section, I made the jump over to get the item but now I keep dying trying to get my souls back

Torches seem to be a one time thing to. After the five minutes on my first torch ran out, it seems to be gone for good.

Game servers are up now btw. Aaaaand I have my first "walked off to my death" death due to the movement shenanigans lol.

Did enough to feel satisfied before going to bed. You get used to the movement rather quickly, although running jumps are still a pain. I wish they'd fix the movement to actual analog movement. Talked to npcs for forever, exhausting their dialog as much as I could. Bought some stuff. Found out my Scimitar thing can parry, parried my first mob, then died three times in a row. Lots of excitement and cautiousness and adrenaline while exploring. It's so nice to not have every single mob location memorized.

Found two covenents so far. The way of the blue, and something that had to do with the "victors path" or something. It's on a stone in the first town area. Anybody know what that one's all about?

I wonder how many hours I'm going to play for when I wake up...

Victor's covenant increases the frequency of being invaded in general. It's basically the "Come at me Bro" covenant. At least that's the impression I get.
