No bonfires actually seems pretty annoying with the shitty durability on weapons and the like.

Here is how he did it.
The reward: Illusory Ring of the Exalted (right-hand weapon becomes invisible)
Sadly, you don't get a PS/Xbox achievement for doing this run.
But here are some tips for people who still want to do it:
• You can light bonfires without losing out on the reward, just make sure you don't accidentally rest at them (especially when you're lighting a torch).
• Dying sends you to the last bonfire you lit, not to the beginning of the game.
• After you light a bonfire, jump off a cliff. Dying repairs your items, recharges your estus flasks and you won't lose any progress.
• Engage in jolly cooperation. Helping someone beat a boss also repairs your items and recharges your estus flasks.
• If you're far from Majula and have a lot of souls you don't want to lose, use a Homeward Bone. You'll be teleported back to Things Betwixt with all of your souls. Afterwards, you can spend your souls in Majula and commit sudoku to return to the last bonfire you lit. You can also do this to repair any items that break.
• Recommended: Learn how to use invincibility frames on rolls with your desired build before trying this run. It will be very frustrating to complete the game without bonfires otherwise.
That actually makes alot of sense then. With protection ring to keep HP from dropping when dying that doesn't seem very difficult, just time consuming to have to repair it after death.
I'm guessing he carried several weapons and/or repair powder around. Mid-game I usually had 3 decent weapons on me so I wouldn't have to worry about respawning enemies to repair things.
Anyone know if you can use multiple simpleton's/skeptic's spices on a single spell? Also, can you use both on a single spell..? And does there appear to be any limit to the number of uses?
Basically, I'm wondering if it would be possible to get Dark Mist to work with base int and fai
Not sure if it was mentioned anywhere, but if you get a Soul of a Giant (four or five in total, and different from Soul of the Last Giant), don't use it; they're needed for a boss in the late game. Three of them are obtained from story-specific means, but one can be obtained way before you're on this part of the story, and if you use it without really thinking (like I did), then shit's really gonna suck later because you can't get it back (to my knowledge, at least).

On another note. After wanting to kill myself leveling a sorc class, I respec'd towards a Hex/Pyro build and I'm enjoying myself a lot more. Also got a Moonlight Greatsword which made fighting fodder a lot easier for me (was mainly using a maxed our rapier like some kind of lunatic).
Beat the game today and started messing around with PVP before I delve into New Game+. Loved it in Demon's Souls, hated it in Dark Souls (until Artorias) and I really love it in this because there's so much damn potential. Just developed a pretty damn cheap moveset for my Hex/Pyro caster and I think I only lost like 1 of the 10 fights I had today and that was only because I got greedy and subsequently got stupid. People are saying right now that Sorcery sucks (and it's really garbage for PVE) but imo you just need to be clever about how you use your spells. The fight mechanics change, as far as I'm concerned, made the game much better for PVP.
Message I got after I killed someone. Logged onto my PS4 so I could screenshot it. (Page breaking because I'm lazy)

how are you making a pyro . hex build im SL 90 having issues with dmg
What's the best way to get items off the magma in iron keep? Fire ring+1 didn't cut it
There's a couple spots where you can use Pharros' lockstones. When you do, it'll fill up a pool with water. Roll in the water to soak yourself and then hurry and run to whatever item you're trying to get. There's some vases too that have water in them that you can roll into. Otherwise, I'd say get a shit ton of HP and fire resist gear and flash sweat.
So what's everyones death count and soul loss count at?
I'm sitting at like 50 or so deaths(Lot of dumb mistakes leading to normal mobs killing me)
and about 600k souls. I have a bad habit of building them up and then dying.
Can you post your build? stats/armor/spells. I am quite curious. I want to make a sorc next.
Edit: Also does anyone know if this rumor is true? Someone is saying that soul memory doesn't matter in NG+ and it is goes back to being only based on SL. And NG+ can invade/co op with any NG+ difficulty. Ex: NG+ invading NG+++ if around same SL.
I'm not sure on where to go next, hoping someone can just point me in the right direction without spoiling, if possible:

Well it's only pyro because fire scales with int so it only made sense to adopt pyromancy into my repertoire. A lot of it was more using Dark Orb to kill shit I didn't wanna deal with up close and using my Rapier until I got my Moonlight Greatsword which made killing fodder a lot less stressful for me. Focus more on the support pyromancies for PVE and helping people because you don't really get enough casts otherwise to really use it much offensively outside of boss fights maybe.
I think the biggest thing is having as high a level catalyst as you can. One of the best ones is the Sunset Staff which you get from Felkin close to Undead Refuge in Huntsman's Copse. You need to have 20 INT and 20 Faith to get it from him though. Also resistance matters a lot more in this game now and coupled with a lot of sorceries doing shit damage, a lot of stuff also resists spells that's why it's probably a good idea to have weapons you're comfortable with that have different elemental affinities.
Pyro scales equally with faith as well (2int=2faith=1int+1faith), so any caster build doubles also a pyro.
EDIT: I really don't like sunset staff; slow casting speed, and very low base damage for dark, so despite its S dark scaling, it's hex damage output isn't that great, at least up to 30int/30faith. I like the branch you can get from the well with the giants key or whatever it is hidden in black gulch (140 casting speed), and the black witch staff; 120 casting speed, high base damage on all schools, can cast all non-pyromancy spells including miracles and chime hexes, and A scaling for both dark and sorcery. At level 10 I think it was A magic, B thunder, C fire(lol?), A dark.
As far as sorcery goes, the only spell I've really liked so far is soul greatsword, does a ton of damage, giant hitbox, dead angles everywhere. Probably not viable without a lot of casting speed thou.
You say no spoilers, so I'm going to be very very vague here...
The area you're looking for is in Huntsman's Copse. I know I missed the entrance at first.
If you haven't found Huntsman's Copse yet, the entrance to that is in Majula.
I can get a little less vague if you want lol
btw, how do you pronounce 'copse?'
Cops?
