Depends on if they're really doing this reincarnation thing in this game. It's either that or just them doing a fanservice type thing.
Tarkus, Tark. Patches, Pate. Vengarl, Vin Garland (who was Demon's Souls, not Dark). Melinda the Butcher, Maneater Mildred. There may be others but that's all I can think of off the top of my head. And that's just names. You go into physical appearances theres a bunch more. There's even sound files they brought back. The samurai make the same dying sound as silver knights, Freya makes a roar identical to the spider in demons souls. Plenty of others.

You're all getting too caught up in making direct comparisons. Many kingdoms have been built and have fallen. So much time has passed that the names of famous people and famous civilizations are not even known anymore. Vinhelm is long forgotten. Big Hat Logan is long forgotten, etc.

DS2 is all about the cycle of death and rebirth. Those four people are not the same four people from dark souls 1.

Those were kingdoms of humans that have risen and fell, the lord soul holders were gods and a dragon, with indefinite life spans. I mean yeah I agree those four are all (physically) dead, because we killed them in dks1, but your argument doesn't really make any sense.

As for themes of cycle and rebirth, I think it's more themes of laziness and recycling. The interesting lore in this game is all the new stuff that isn't directly related to dks1; vendrick/nashandra/aldia and co and their interaction with the giants and dragons.

Some are visible on her neck and a few on her face I think? And isn't her tail furry? Which Seathe's wasn't.
And I'm not saying Seathe isn't involved with Priscilla btw. I think he may definitely have been involved, but as Deadgye said as possibly her actual father not as a test subject, which would be why she would have been locked away while all of Seathe's other creations weren't considered abominations. But now were starting to just devolve into Dark Souls 1 discussion in a DS2 thread.

All four times I fought him I ended up taking him out from ranged with fire bolt Avelyn.

Tark rewards you for killing his master/creator if you talk to him after clearing brightstone. I forget his exact dialogue, but when he first talks about his 'master' there are some obvious hints that it's seathe, like falling into madness from jealousy at the rest of his kind or something like that. Tark also says he and his wife were created ages ago, I assume before aldia's time.

Seathe was obviously into making hybrid stuff thou, remember priscilla? His man-snake army? EDIT again: also the hydras, and whatever those lovecraftian things he was turning those abducted women into.

Yeah and Aldia clearly went insane as evidenced by the frankenstein-like abomination in his mansion, along with all the corpses and alchemical utensils. He was clearly deranged and was clearly experimenting with screwing around with body parts. Occham's razor. Not saying I'm right, but that from my point of view it makes the most sense. Drangleic in general has been largely uninhabited and in disrepair for a long time before the game takes place so it's within reason to assume Aldia could have created them.

And Anor Londo wasn't a kingdom of "gods"? It rose and fell just the same. There were also no dragons with their own lord souls. Seethe had a part of Gwyn's lord soul, not his own. What part of my "argument" do you feel doesn't make sense? I'm literally just pointing out the inaccuracies in the theories other people are coming up with and parroting what the npcs say.

According to the guide book, no other way to get those two.
And I just got in the game and there was no patch for me.
edit: I forgot my ps3 autoupdates. Yeah, it's on Ver. 1.02 now.

I imbued the Mirror Knight's shield with magic and just lol'd as he shot his magic at me.

welp, got everything I can get done on my first runthrough. I missed Lucatiel/Pate/Creighten quest line, I know I can use ascetics to get them still, but I'm just going to start onto NG+

and yeah, just killed Navlaan and got his hood. Definitely not his original name. Still not sold on him being Aldia though because he's got blue skin and I'm pretty sure that makes him Fenito.

My first character only got invaded once total throughout all of NG, my second character has yet to get invaded once and I'm already almost finished with NG. I'd like to rank up in the champion covenant, but it requires you to kill people who invade you.

I was invaded one in all my first game and it was literally right as I was trying to use the bonfire in drangleic castle so I could go to Majula and start NG+
