I just got power leveled. Some guy invaded me right after I summoned 2 sunbros. He was hard but he dropped 500k+ souls @_@ Got 26 soul levels off all that lol
Well ok then. High Level Magic Immunity Build.
What soul level would you even be with that many stats, seems rather unrealistic lol.
1000 of an element resist will nullify damage from that source (magic, lightning, etc.) to get all 4 at once does require soft resist from int and faith, but you can get the majority of it from gear and rings. the dragon tooth is the only weapon that also increases any elemental resists (fire and magic specifically).
No, soul memory is pretty much the only thing that matters. It's pretty sad
Anyone know of a good site for mods that isn't NexusMods? There are some cool mods out there, but not £3/month cool.
I'm just about to beat Dark Souls 1 for the first time. Never even glanced at this series. Totally enthralled. Is Dark Souls 2 worth playing? Like, should I give it a go through on single player or what not just to have fun or is Dark Souls 1 the better of the two and just pretend that DS2 doesn't exist? I don't have tons of time after next week for a while.
I guess it really depends on what you liked about Dark Souls. Dark Souls 2 does a lot of things different and I think a lot of them are worse but 'most' (not all) of these things could be considered minor.
dark souls 1 is the better game but i still put close to 200 hours into dark souls 2.
Yeah, I'd play Dark Souls 2. DS1 is hands down better than DS2 (with the BG community at least) but I know I also am currently sitting at 150hours playtime on DS2.
DS1 I put in about 150hours on PS3 then another 250 on Steam and only stopped playing it because DS2 came out. DS2 will not get that same treatment from me though. I stopped playing DS2 two months ago. I'll probably pick up the DLC and play it but after that I'm probably going to start a new character on DS1 again.
Also check out Demons Souls, assuming you have a PS3.
What I like about DS1 is that I was dropped into a world knowing nothing. I'm almost done with the game and I still know very little. I never really knew where to go, I just kind of found my way around. The only hint I feel like I ever got was when I placed the lord vessel down in the tomb and I saw all these places that I had been before where the walls had disappeared. The boss battles are insane for the most part. Although after the brothers I feel like the bosses I have encountered have become decreasingly difficult... 3 of the 4 "large soul" bosses for the lord vessel so far have been a complete joke. Will DS2 give me the same feelings of just wandering around an unknown area? Will I have the same frustrations when I'm a lower level character dying over and over trying to accomplish something? I know that sounds crazy but it's part of the satisfaction of the game. It's difficult which makes it fun. I also don't have a PS3, I'm an xbox fag![]()
It will, but to a lesser extent. The areas are smaller/more linear, and the awesome interconnected world design from DkS1 is basically gone.
DkS2 made some improvements to magic, weapon variety, and many little QoL things, but pretty much everything else including bosses, story, level/world design, multiplayer matchmaking, atmosphere and even the responsiveness of the controls were a big downgrade imo. I mean it's still a good game compared to most of the shlock out there, and I enjoyed a couple playthroughs of it, but it's far from the masterpiece that DeS/DkS1 were.
I felt really good about DS2 until the effects of soul memory started ruining my experience. Then I started to not ignore the other glaring problems and poorly designed level connection, just sort of made me lose interest entirely.
I obviously like the original better as well, but I also think the soul memory hate is pretty unjustified. It does a lot more good than bad. I understand people want to sit at wherever they feel their "build" is done with and not have to fight people with way higher levels as their memory creeps up. But if that cripples you, then to me... that just means your build sucks.
Is DkS2 the worst of the 3 games? Probably.. but I still think they're all really, really good.
