Fantastic Four (August 7, 2015)

Marvel made some of the most bad ass fight scenes in a marvel movie I've ever seen with Ant Man. A great Squirrel Girl movie will be released by Marvel before a decent FF4 by Fox.

And I would watch the fuck out of a good Squirrel Girl movie if it hit the right note of silly. If they can avoid studio-fucking Deadpool, they MIGHT be able to pull that one off.

Just watched this, it isn't as terrible as I was afraid it was going to be. It's just missing the middle 45 minutes and the end fight scenes are terrible.

So it's like 50% of the movie it should have been.

I actually though the first 45 minutes were pretty decent, but the 2nd half is where it falls apart.

That's the general compliant really. The transition from origin to the rest of the film just happened. What's worse it set itself up to be really good and someone made an incredible decision somewhere along the lines.

Could we finally see the Fantastic Four back under the Marvel Studios umbrella? That's what Den Of Geek is reporting, anyway. According to them the deal is done, and in exchange for Fox being allowed to develop the Legion and Hellfire TV shows, Mr. Fantastic, Invisible Woman, The Thing, The Human Torch - and presumably all characters associated with them - will return home.

This probably isn't that surprising given the critical and commercial disaster that Josh Trank's recent reboot became - but Fox did seem adamant that they were going ahead with a sequel, so perhaps they were just trying to throw people off the scent. DOG reckon this deal has been in the works for a while now.

Oh, and remember those mystery 2020 Marvel movies that were announced along with the Ant-Man and The Wasp news? Apparently Fantastic Four will be one of 'em.

This is only being reported as a rumor for the time being, but it does make a lot of sense. We'll update if and when any more information comes our way.

UPDATE: "Having asked for some clarification from our source, we understand that the deal Marvel have made with Fox - which will see Fantastic Four returned to the Marvel fold in exchange for the X-Men TV rights - also includes the rights to villains Galactus and Doctor Doom, as well as the Silver Surfer."

Been denied so far by bother Marvel and FOX but so was the Spider-Man deal with Sony so who knows. It's clear the only way FOX will ever make a profit on FF is to trade it back to Marvel.

While the idea of a MCU F4 sounds really promising and it is virtually guaranteed to be as good as any other MCU film, I'm worried about having the origin story told yet again. Hopefully they can just pull a Hulk '08 and be like "just get on with it, everybody knows how this goes".

How different can your origin story be though? At its core you have a bunch of geeks, hot shot, muscle head, cosmic rays and mutation without calling them mutants. I'm all for the phase of, "we'really already established so let's get it".

Never gonna happen sadly. X-Men makes FOX way to much money and those character rights are way to vast

Less than a minute from the cartoon I used to watch. Replace the robot with Johnny and it has all the origin you need.
