At the following time, we will be performing maintenance on FINAL FANTASY XI to accompany the version update which was postponed from the original schedule. During this period, FINAL FANTASY XI will be unavailable.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your patience.

* This maintenance will be accompanied by a version update. After maintenance is complete, the update will automatically begin after you press the "Play" button. After that, please follow the instructions on the screen.

* The World Transfer Service will be unavailable starting 30 minutes before the maintenance. Please wait until after the maintenance is completed before attempting to use this service.

* You may receive errors such as "POL-1160" or "POL-0010" during the download process due to heavy server traffic. If you are unable to access the update, we ask that you please wait a while and then try again.

I had been guessing since they found a bug before maint last time, that if the director had still been Tanaka it'd of gone in and we'd of found it. I had been guessing it'd take anywhere from 1 day to a week to fix it, considering how fast they usually fix critical bugs.

But yeah. Small but mostly reused assets.

WRONGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG

The patch would have gone in live Monday, as scheduled, so you're right on that. However if the critical bug was something that was beneficial to the players, Tanaka would have sprinted to the servers faster than Usain Bolt and ripped them all down himself in the name of balance. If it was a critical bug that was adverse to the players...he'd have sat back and watched the lulz ensue at the players bitching about it, saying its "balanced and working as intended".

Which is why this blu/debuff WS macc bug is really fucking annoying: if it was reversed, and there was a huge macc boost to the point where a any severely underlvled character could land the debuff 100% of the time (provided the WS/spell lands), that shit would have been patched before anyone even posted to the OF, instead of it being reported as a bug for the past year and a half.

Sad but true ;( Remember how fast 99999 cures went down? Although they left Mythic aftermath on Vigil weapons for something like a week untouched. Fun times never last long :-/

I stand corrected, then...Either way we still would of found it after. Which sucks..But I'd rather wait what turned out to be about 3 days for them to get out the bug smasher and make sure we didn't have rotten bugs (kill things in one cure, sa from the front, enfeeble problems, blu enfeeble problems, drop problems, etc.) than find the bug after.

I figure in the old days, if they chose to fix the bug instead of saying "balance" it would take a day to a week to get fixed, which is why I didn't think the update would be delayed for very long. Bet they had to do overtime to get it fixed, and if they knew who left the bug, that person now has their rear on fire..

If that little Moogle story they had is any indication, the critical bug was the music from the new Mog House "jukebox" was instead cranking out a noise bomb only suitable for ear rapists. Not exactly holiday cheer.

if you disable recast it won't crash.

put a // in front of the "load recast" line in the init script for now
